The Best Pillow for Side Sleepers Currently? Recommendation
I spent years searching for good pillows, exhausted natural and synthetic options until my wife got tired of the stacks of costco pillows and gifted me a seemingly plain down pillow from Parachute. I was initially flabbergasted when I found out a single pillow cost over $200, but my wife told be to shut up ,trust her research and that I had spent way more on failed experiments. Its the best pillow ever,2 years in and it still feels like new, it remains cool throughout the night, and offers the perfect balance of support and cradling. What makes these pillows great is that they are mostly filled with down clusters(retain shape, plush and volume), whereas most cheaper ones are mostly down feathers. Its like comparing prime vs short rib meat, same part but completely different cuts. If allergies are a concern, a Talalay (not dunlop) latex pillow is a great alternative that will last years. I use it during the hottest summer months. Consider both a buy once cry once thing that pays itself with good sleep and years of use.

Down comforter: what's the BIFL option?
Honestly been using my Parachute down comforter for like 4 years now and it's still fluffy as hell. Not cheap but the fill power is legit and they're pretty transparent about their sourcing

What’s a small upgrade you made that ended up being way more impactful than expected?
They get softer everytime they are washed. I\`m on my third wash now. Feels like a soft shirt. It also feels good knowing that you\`re not sleeping on plastic. Good investment. I bought from Parachute when on sale but theres plenty others - all with mixed reviews. Just go get one and try it out.

Brooklinens down alt comforter is perfect soft not bulky and fits a queen without hanging too much. Parachutes quilted ones great too if you skip duvets.

Bed sheets that last?
Go for 100% organic cotton percale or linen, brands like Brooklinen, Parachute, or Boll & Branch hold up for years if you wash on gentle.

Bed sheets that last?
In the vein of linen, we've had a set of Bare linen sheets in our sheet rotation for over two years now and despite being cheap, they're the thickest and nicest of the linen sheets we own. They were a bit rough at first (great sign imo) but are very comfortable now. Our Parachute white linen sheets (~3-4 years old) have held up well and are our softest linens, but they're the thinnest of our sheets, and I worry about long-term durability. Our Threshold set from Target is similarly concerning - of the three sets, they've thinned and faded the worst. Still comfy but I wouldn't be surprised if they rip first. They are technically our oldest set at ~4 years old. I've heard they've dipped in quality as well :/ We have 4 sets of sheets we rotate through weekly, but I'm lazy and everything gets washed warm and thrown in the dryer, so we don't baby our linen.

Where do you buy hotel-quality bed sheets and pillows without spending a fortune? I want my bed to feel like a Marriott stay.
Agreed, I prefer my percale sheets from Parachute much more than the ones I have from Brooklinen.

Surprisingly I haven’t seen anyone mention Parachute sheets. They’re Egyptian cotton long staple percale weave. My wife and I prefer them over the Red Land sheets we bought at the same time a few years ago. Not sure what price range you want but they’re sub $300 for cali king size, I think a bit less for smaller sizes. [Parachute sheets](https://parachutehome.com/products/percale-sheet-set-white-k-ck)

Linen is generally cooler than sateen IME. We’ve got a few linen sets for summer. Using them now. Some are thicker than others and some lint a helluva lot in the dryer. Buffy’s hemp linen sheets feel robust but they’re not as soft as Quince or Parachute. I hated the Brooklinen set we tried.

Feathered Friends is a great pick!! For crisp cotton percale, check out Parachute, Brooklinen, or Coyuchi. And yeah.. TJMaxx can be a goldmine. I snagged a Matouk for $250 once. Totally worth checking!!

High Quality Twin XL Sheets (and duvet)
I really love linen sheets. I have some from west elm and pottery barn and a set from parachute. There are all considered "mid-grade" linen—it can get very pricey. I've been very happy with them, though. Especially in summer. https://www.potterybarn.com/products/belgian-linen-sheet-set/

Anyone bought quality percale sheets in the last 1-2 years?
Just bought Parachute and washed it before use. It was fine and cool. They seem to also have a very generous return policy if you want to try it.

Top BIFL Household Items for Starting Over
Thank you for your thoughtful reply! Bedding is top of mind for us and will check out Pottery Barn’s percale. We had percale from Parachute before and liked it, but are open to other brands.
