What truly defines a 'premium' silicone phone case?
Anything with “poly” in the name is going to be a plastic based material - polycarbonate, polystyrene (styrofoam) - all fossil fuel based, so no, not eco-friendly. Pela cases are made from a plant based compostable “bio-plastic”. Some argue that one, really long lasting plastic case is better than potentially multiple, pricier, commercially compostable cases, however most people keep their phone 2 to 5 years and I don’t like the idea of the plastic case still being here thousands of years later. If a Pela case is out of your price range (they are $66 unfortunately) you can always look on Mercari or Poshmark for one, or even a regular plastic case as that one is here to stay already. Not everything is used on there so it’s great to look. Appreciate your open mindedness to being eco-friendly :)

Your phone isn't bifl, so neither is it's case. That being said, I like Pela cases. Really nice feel, and they've planned for what happens to it when it's no longer needed.

What Phone Case Should I Buy
Pela Case. Since you’re not going to have your phone for life, why have a case that will last a lifetime in a landfill when you’re done with it? My Pela case lasted about 3 years before it started falling apart. Highly recommend.
