I have a choice to either buy a stationary bike or a treadmill that I want to use for the next 6-7 years. Which one should I get?
We have a Peloton. I bought a cheaper stationary bike (<$150) that I used for about 1.5 years before purchasing it. I wanted to make sure I would use it enough to justify the cost. I am ALL IN at this point. Ive also now bought a rower (not the peloton row) and a treadmill (again, not peloton) but i use my app/bike screen to do all the workouts they offer. I oife 3-4 days per week, do walking classes, and spin 2-3 days a week. We live in a super rural area, the closest gym is at least a 30 min drive and I have a handicap child that I cant take with me, so the peloton platform has been life changing for me. Im sure there are other platforms that are just as good, but i am so happy with my bike I dont forsee me ever switching.

We have a peloton bike that we have used a lot for about 5 years now. Got it during covid to stay fit. Still in great shape and I dont think we have ever done maintenance of any type on it. If you get the membership there's tons of classes including yoga, resistance training and some others that are beneficial

Spin bike! There are lots of different models besides Peloton. I used one at the gym while I had plantar fasciitis and really grew to love it.

Not sure about your budget, but I have been converted on Peloton. The classes on the bike are amazing but there are also strength and flexibility exercises you can do with it. It’s more about the classes than the machine.

What purchase made you smile more often, maybe without meaning to?
Movement. We got a peloton a couple years back and it’s so helpful for combatting SAD when we can get a couple workouts in a week.

What purchase changed your habit?
A Peloton app membership. I didn’t buy the equipment, just the on-demand subscription for their strength/pilates/barre classes. I’m on track to work out for 3,000 minutes this year (not counting the walking I already do). 15-30 minutes of activity a day can make a big difference.
