  What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?

  I bought a SureFeed Microchip feeder so my smaller cat could graze throughout the day without my bigger cat eating all the food. I also got a Petlibro granary auto feeder that drops food several times throughout the day. It keeps my bigger boy from stepping all over my head in the morning (for the most part) to get food. I researched how many calories my cats need a day and figured out how much food to drop throughout the day. They were both worth it because my big boy was 20 pounds and has lost 2 pounds in the last year. I’m working on bulking up my little one.

  I will second Petlibro, and add that you can get replacement parts for most things, including pumps! Ours has been going strong for a long while now, and I love how easy to maintain it is.

  Petlibro! I am on my second fountain in the last 5 years. I only got the second one because I allowed the water to get too low and the pump burned out, so that was my fault. The one I have now is going on two years and still runs great. They sell replacement pumps now, too. I have the Petlibro stainless steel fountain. Most parts are dishwasher safe. (Just not the pump).

  Another +1 for Petlibro. My fountain and autofeeder have been going strong for a few years with no noticeable signs of degradation and super simple to clean. They also sell replacement parts on their website so if one part breaks (like the little motor), you don’t have to scrap the entire thing. Little things like that are a big deal to me personally, when choosing which companies to give your money to.

  I went through way too many of those pioneer tear drop stainless ones I’m on year 2 with the Petlibro ones - they’re much easier to clean (and the bottom is sealed) and that seems to be creating way less issues than I had w the pioneer options. Not bifl confirmed but going substantially better so far…

  BIFL Automatic Pet Feeders That Last, Seeking a Durable Option for Consistency and Peace of Mind

  I have the petlibro chip feeder which has been amazing. Buy it for life? We'll see. I think so many of these products aren't really built with durability in mind. But having a reservoir that dispenses the food on a routine is really nice. Plus the battery backup gives me peace of mind.
