  What are the pros and cons of the Litter Robot?

  Long term LR user here. The biggest con people do not mention enough is deep cleaning. After a year or two the globe gets nasty in places you cannot easily reach without unscrewing things. And if urine gets into the base it is game over for the electronics. I actually switched to the PetSnowy for this exact reason. It uses magnetic assembly so you can pop the whole thing apart to wash it out in minutes. If you are looking for something that is gonna last cause it is maintainable the design makes a huge difference compared to the bolted together plastic on the LR.

  Choosing a cat water fountain

  We picked up the PetSnowy and honestly never looked back. Super easy setup, basically zero mess, and it’s been running strong without any issues.

  Best Automatic Kitty Litter Box

  Learned the hard way not to just buy the first “smart litter box” that pops up online. Got one last year (not naming names lol) and it was a total disaster—thing jammed constantly, smelled awful within a day, and once even started cycling while my cat was still inside. Had to pull the plug on that real quick. I’ve been scrolling through the comments here and ppl have mentioned some actually good reccs—like the Litter Robot and the PetSnowy. Both seem to do way better than the random off-brand stuff. The odor control is actually engineered, not just a fan and some charcoal, and the waste disposal setups are way more hands-free. Plus, they’ve got better safety systems for multi-cat households. One heads up though: avoid the robot 3 if you go for the Litter Robot brand. Seen a bunch of mixed reviews and ppl complaining about reliability issues, sensors going wonky, that kinda thing. Def feels like they ironed out those bugs in the newer models, but the 3’s kinda sketchy.

  Did a ton of digging on this one since it's a pretty big spend. For these kinds of boxes, the top things to look for are: real odor control (not just a carbon filter slapped on), safety sensors (especially if you've got curious cats), how often you actually have to empty it, ease of cleaning, and how it handles multiple cats. Seems like the petsnowy one actually does make a noticeable difference for odor (photocatalysis breaks stuff down at a molecular level, not just masking it). The auto-packing feature means you’re basically emptying a sealed bag once a week tops, even with multiple cats. Some of these auto boxes start raking when your cat is mid-poop, but this one has a 7-stage safety feature meant to prevent just that. Also, imo modular design = way easier to deep clean. Not cheap but probs one of the most hands-off setups out there rn
