Why household appliances are no longer built to last
My family owns a 1953 Philco refrigerator that’s still running and has been continuously since it was bought, barring power outages. Only thing that’s been replaced is the light bulb and the gasket. It is starting to get some exterior rust on the enamel from years of magnets scratching it though.
