  What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?

  A great Wahl clipper, got one on sale with a ton of attachments, it's plastic on the outside but has the same motor as the higher end one. I've used it at least weekly for years now for I and my partner (we both have buzzed hair). Phillips Oneblade goes on sale a lot, the blades last way longer than a standard razor, and the battery lasts ages. It's not as close as a skin shave but it's great for the face and areas you don't mind being not PERFECTLY dolphin smooth, and has never caused a cut or ingrown on either of us. Good Japanese nail clippers, Seki Edge were life-changing for me. It's weird to think how annoying another pair of clippers was until I forgot it at home and had to use another. Not really a BIFL, but a great sunscreen will save you a fortune down the road, because you'll actually WANT to use it. It will mean less photoaging and less skin cancer risk, and cancer is expensive. I usually buy Korean ones, Skin1004 or BOJ. Reusable cloths instead of paper towel and cotton pads. Extra pillowcases, because if you change and wash them frequently, you will have better skin and hair, and also save money on allergy pills if you're allergic to pets or dust. Empty spray bottles and airless pumps, so you can store cleaning products and dilute them for less waste, as well as have a more controlled dispense from bottles that would normally push too much out of and force you to use it up faster. A magnetic bar to hang knives and keep them out of the way but also easy to access. A magnetized grocery list and attached pen for your fridge so you don't forget to write down what you use up, as well as clear bins to store things in the fridge so you don't forget something in the back and have to buy it again because it went off.

  Sonicare vs OralB - which one is worth the money?

  I came to the post for the same reasons as you! It’s one of those things where the opinions seem to be divided, but you can usually get something that resonates with you and run with it. I have a Phillips and trying an Oral B. I feel like the Oral B cleans better based on the feeling of it, but I think I have some recession on 2-4 teeth and I can see myself aggravating that area, so I may stick with Phillips and if this one dies, I may get a base model or a knock off one. I am considering asking my dental office to suggest one for me based on my teeth. Someone mentioned that and it’s a great suggestion.

  I've been using a Phillips smartsleep for over 10 years now and it's been great. I've gone on phases where I just wake up with the light, then need noise too. It has soft alarms, no brown noise but has relaxation sounds (ocean, forest, etc) but don't really use those. It's certainly a bifl product

  How good is the philips oneblade?

  I have the OneBlade from before they even released the OneBlade Pro, let alone the 360 models. Still using it, love how it performs. I use it to trim / shave my face and neck where I dont want beard stubble. Unfortunately I have to use a different trimmer for the beard itself, never liked the length adaptor they supply. Hasn't missed a beat and thats gotta be around 5 years or so now (touch wood). I have seen a few people complain about the price but here in Australia they were around $100 to $150 and compared to other trimmers etc I thought its pretty cheap? Blades feel expensive $25 and up depending on the packs, but they last 3 to 4 months for me no porblem. Certainly takes a while to get used to using them but I wouldn't change it for anything else.

  BIFL razor for the not so hairy man?

  I bought one of those Philips OneBlade electric razors about a year ago. It's working great for me. Obviously you need to change the razor head about every 3 months, but other than that seems pretty good quality and works like a charm.

  I would personally recommend Phillips, but what I heard from my friend that it really depends on your experience(luck) with the products, I’ve been using products from Phillips for a long time and it was very good and durable.

  If you're going for clean shaven just get a muhle (made in Germany) razor. If you want to style get a Philips oneblade.
