  I like my Wahl 5-Star Series Cordless Magic Clip. Mine came with 8 cutting guides 1/8” - 1”. It’s pretty big but it feels indestructible.

  Im guessing you're talking about the jrl onyx, which i was thinking of purchasing but, like you said, pricey, its just not within my budget. As for "the best" clipper you're probably reffering to the Wahl Pro Magic Clipper 5 Star Series (Cordless) or Wahl Legend 5 Star Series. What im buying is essentially the Corded (older) version of the Magic Clipper 5 Star.

  Wahl Senior 5 Star, or Oster Classic 76. You can get longer #10 and #12 guards for the wahl if that’s what you are after. Classic 76 has an easier to replace and clean blade. So let your needs drive your decision.
