  Does anyone else feel like it's impossible to buy quality stuff anymore? Seems like every single thing I buy falls apart absurdly fast. I try to get quality stuff, but reviews are all fake, star ratings are bought... how do you avoid buying junk?

  I don't look for quality as much as user serviceability and access to information and parts needed to keep my stuff working. Open source hardware and DIY oriented hardware is great. My 8 year old Prusa MK2 will be running for the next 20 years because I can repair literally anything on it that breaks. My mechanical keyboard uses industry standard keys and caps, and I will be able to replace those individually rather than throw the entire keyboard away like I had to do with my (more expensive, less enjoyable) logitech keyboard.
