  The Last Stand for AA/AAA Battery Gaming Mice? Am I the only one "fighting" against built-in batteries? My G603 is 3 years old, and I just added a 68g ROG Strix Impact 3 (Wireless). Should I buy a third backup?

  i'm with you on the replaceable battery philosophy - it's why i still use a g304. the market is definitely shifting toward built-in, but there are still options. the logitech g305 (same as g304 in some regions) is still widely available and uses AA. razer deathadder v2 x hyperspeed also takes AA. as for hoarding, i'd get one backup if you're really worried, but not three. technology changes fast - in 5 years there might be better options even if they have built-in batteries. also, eneloops last for hundreds of charges, so your current mice should last many years with proper care.

  Stick with the new chassis and swap only what actually matters functionally; don’t sacrifice reliability just to keep every old part alive. If the old keycaps feel better, move those over, but leave the new D-pad and scroll assembly alone so you’re not transplanting future failures. Take pics of your current layout, export your profiles, and back them up to cloud and USB so you’re not hunting 2007 drivers again after a reinstall. I’d also grab a second n52 now as a cold spare while prices are still sane; these niche peripherals vanish overnight. For alternatives, I’ve messed with a Tartarus and a Wooting 60HE plus Steam Input, and on the software side stuff like AutoHotkey or JoyToKey plus an old gamepad or even something like DreamFactory-tied internal tools for work macros can cover the non-gaming side. Core move: keep the new one stock for durability, transplant only the high-touch caps, and stash a backup in the closet.

  It really is insane how the counterfeits are almost becoming better quality than the real deal and the big brands are going to dogshit. It's so bad that in 2025 there are now counterfeit makers straight up advertising on TikTok for business - like straight up "hey this x name brand sucks now, come to our website instead and we can make them but better and cheaper."

  I have a razer mouse right now, and I've had them in the past. The one I have now has far outlasted my $150 logitech mouse. I just buy mice when they go on sale and store them because they all die eventually. I have a razer keyboard that's 15 years old, still works great. Gaming chairs are a hilarious scam, gamers think they invented sitting looking at a computer for 8 hours at a time. Like they never heard of working in an office?

  I used to love razer. And with the AirPods, I stay away from the pros. The regulars never gave me issues. I have an old gen 1 and a gen 3. I use both at diff times for diff things

  Looking for a BIFL wireless mouse.

  I've had a Razer basilisk for 3 years and can't tell you how many times I've dropped it on my hard floor and it's still working fine. I use it every day for wfh and some gaming.   What are the best headphones with a great price-to-performance ratio?

  Oh boy, I am going to get downvoted to **hell** for this, but... • [Razer BlackShark V2 X](https://a.co/d/3iVvLHa) Was recommended to be from a friend's brother that claimed to have played in PSL for R6. They recommended them to me, because I played R6, Hunt: Showdown, and a few other games that required good Audio Cue reactions with those friends. I've enjoyed them for the better part of the last 5 years. Excellent bass, the Dolby Sound Card, and 7.1 Channel Audio would be the selling points for these. As they have aged, I have noticed that there is "scratching" or "static" that occurs while you are turning the Volume Knob, but only **while** turning; the other thing is that one of the Ear Cup Pads is coming off, but it's been "coming off" for like a year and hasn't been an issue so, ymmv but for the price I'm not upset. Some people have told me, regarding my own headset, that it's too tight and is uncomfortable to use for more than one or two songs. I really enjoy this amount of pressure I guess, I'm willing to put this information out there and admit I might be the odd one out. At least you know up front. I will run it for 4+ hours at a time and my only complaint, personally, is that they can get pretty sweaty after a long session. $38 isn't a bad price, most Storefronts will have them priced at $50-$60 brand new. I just grabbed the first Amazon Link though, I'm sure you could shop around and find a better deal if you tried. Alternatively, if you're willing to spend a bit more coin, you could opt for a pair of [Philips SHP9500](https://a.co/d/gLDAGqa) open-back headphones. The sound profile is significantly better for your average audiophile, but in order to achieve certain clarity you do give up some of the Bass *thump*-iness; hence the open-back design. And these, I doubt will get me in trouble with the informed buyers of r/BIFL and the folks over at r/audiophile.

  Longest lasting video game controllers?

  Absolutely do not get a first party Xbox elite controller. They will fail, they will get stick drift, and it will be a massive pain to fix. The best controllers these days seem to be wired third party controllers, like those from Razer. Other than that, you want to ensure whatever you get has Hall effect sticks. I’m a wireless snob due to my setup, so I’m partial to 8BitDo. They can be finicky with connecting to PCs, and not all of them are Xbox compatible, but they are the highest quality for the cheapest price I’ve found. They aren’t BIFL, no controller is, but they’re cost effective.

  I'm daily rocking a Razer Lachesis from 2008 here (17 years), still works almost perfectly, the middle scroll click stopped working a few years back but doesn't bother me at all. Barely used it anyway. Heard bad things about them lately but they used to make great products.

  Left Handed DeathAdder from 2010

  Sweet! I'm using the right handed version, but same blue DA. Between multiple moves, being thrown in my backpack during college, etc - still works great. I'd hate to guess how many millions of clicks and miles of scrolling I have on it.

  A huge wooden 80in long Uplift sit to stand desk with hidden cable management, Razer keyboards and mouse, Herman Miller Embody chair, a 43 in Dell 5K monitor paired with a 36in 4K monitor connected to a docking station. The best purchase however was the Ubiquiti Dream Machine SE with scream U7 Pro XGS APs throughout the house so Teams calls don't get dropped when I roam from one end of the house to another.

  Want a durable vertical mouse recommendation

  Posting this because I haven’t seen it in the thread yet, but Razer has a vertical mouse that they recently released that is supposedly quite nice. Their reputation for longevity has been hit or miss but lately I’ve heard a lot less complaining than I used to 10~ years ago, so presumably they’ve improved.

  MMX 200 Wireless - Beyerdynamic let me down after just 6 months

  I have the Antlion wireless modmic and razer kraken pro v2. The mic is really good. I've recently turned it on after not using it for 2 years and it still works and battery is also still good. I also changed the ear puds twice now. They are always the first ones to go in headphones. There are replacement ear pads for mx200 on Amazon and even on the Beyerdynamic website.

  I have a Razor DeathAdder V2 mini wired mouse which has served me well for about 3 years now. Been thrown in my laptop bag and hauled all over the place. Also has a very nice flexible braided cable. Not sure if it's still an issue, but Logitech's had a big issue with switches a while ago. As far as I understand, Razr doesn't have those issues.

  Razer deathadder elite. No frills, fine for left hand, and mine has lasted at least a decade at this point with no real issues yet. I did have to super glue the grip pads back on sides a year or so ago, but other than that it has worked like a charm.

  Not so much a specific recommendation but rather you should look at the mouse reviews from the RTings website. They have great write ups and it’s how I picked my mouse, a Razer Viper Pro. Which I really like and would put as a good option. The Logitech MMX is also fantastic.

  In 2020 I needed a laptop for photo editing, I was looking for anything with a 4k Oled display and a dedicated graphics card. I settled on a Razer Blade 15.” It’s the best laptop I’ve ever purchased and has been rock solid for 4 years, and is a gorgeous machine. I would highly recommend them.

  Looking for a sturdy long lasting gaming mouse

  I've used a razer Basilisk v2 pretty much 9-5 for the last couple of years, and it's still working perfectly. Some cosmetic wear, but nothing that effects functionality.
