  Of course no shoes are going to last a lifetime but I’m trying to build a pretty good collection (are made in Japan converse worth it?)

  This is like asking if there are Buyitforlife tires. If it’s shoes you will be walking all day with they won’t last for lifetime. Maybe some brands/models will last longer than others. Personally I find the Reebok club c 85 to be a good reliable shoe. Maybe certain models of new balance.

  I’ve found that some of the most durable casual sneakers are Reebok’s. Specifically the all leather ones. The soles will wear out after a while but you can always replace those if you want.

  I replace my underwear like every year or so. 40 bucks a year for some Adidas, puma or reebok from Ross. Beat em up, sell em online to the gays.

  I wear boxer briefs and prefer the Rebok branded ones, not sure of the "model." I have perhaps a dozen of those that have held up well for 5-6 years at least, I think the elastic in the oldest ones began to go around 7 years? Sold in multi-packs at Sam's Club. Have also worn Calvins (they bunch up, don't recommend), the Duluth Trading "armachllo" in summer (cool, but the waistbands roll), and a few other common ones. The Reboks have been the most comfortable and the longest-lasting for me.

  Why is it so hard to find well-made clothes that aren't insanely priced?

  3/4 of my wardrobe are literally 20 years old and they are off the rack “low tier” stuff. I have pictures of me in these same cloths from my early 20’s. What cloths are you buying and what are you using to clean them!? Not saying there aren’t horribly made clothing from fast casual clothing lines, but I have a lot of Walmart off the rack stuff that’s been holding up a looooong time. The items I will spend more money on from better brands are socks - my smartwool socks last a long time, like decades. The elastic on underwear just wear out over time from any brand but I like breathable sport Reebok boxer briefs I find at warehouse clubs.

  its not complicated. go to Marshalls or TJ Maxx, $5-$7 for Reeboks or Puma boxer-briefs. Costco has similar type, maybe Puma i think. current set i bought like 7 years ago and still look / feel new.

  For the love of god, where can I buy some ankle socks that don’t get holes in them in a month?

  I've really been loving the Reebok ones I got for Christmas. Wish they would have been crew length, but other than that they are comfortable and have lasted me this long.

  In that case your best bet is a higher end boot, redwings are always a solid choice but there are lots of high end boots that you can resolve. You can also extend the life of your sneakers by swapping out the insoles, often these wear much more quickly than the outer part of the shoe. I have Reebok sneakers that go a few years with new insoles before I wear the rest of the shoe out.

  Hey! Yeah, sneakers wearing out fast is annoying. Your Reeboks lasting 3-4 years is solid! I’d stick with Reebok’s Club C 85 Vintage comfy leather, good sole, around $75-$90, lasts well. New Balance 574s are another good one suede/mesh, comfy cushioning, $80-$90, holds up 2-3 years. Or try Sketchers Go Walks light, flexible, under $60, great for daily use. All fit your $100 budget and should feel good everywhere. What do you think?

  I’ve had multiple pairs of Reebok C 85 Vintage shoes, some of the best shoes I’ve had. I usually get a few years out of them. They look great new and when they’re worn in, they work with most outfits and last forever. Also well priced, around $90

  Looking for quality durable shoes

  My Reebok C 85 last forever. They’re made of leather, so that helps them last. They don’t fall apart, but generally it’s a good idea to get a new pair every year or add insoles to maintain support.

  How is ASICS durability?

  I'm a fan of the Reebok nano CrossFit shoes. Harder sole, almost no cushion (it's bad for squatting) so nothing to compact and feel bad over time. I've had a pair for ~5 years now of 5x a week hour workouts and I'm 120kg. I have another pair that has been my daily shoe for 2+ yrs and only now is starting to wear down on the bottom.

  New Balance 990vX, 993, and 574s along with Reebok Club Cs are all pretty in-style at the moment. They’re tennis shoes, but you aren’t going to look like you’re about to go on a jog at any moment. New Balance shoes are comfortable and very durable. All that being said, you might be underestimating how often Europeans wear tennis shoes.

  Slip on work boots with composite/steel toe?

  Does it have to be a boot? There are plenty of composite toe work shoes out there. Reebok model RB4052 is even a slip on, I'm sure others make them too. Can't speak for BIFL status of them. #

  What's your most comfortable and durable piece of clothing?

  I still have my reebok Iverson bball shorts. Remember Iverson? I bought it when he was still playing and it's my fav shorts, I only replaced zippers on the pockets. Dunno even why, I only wear it when playing.
