  I love French terry sweats. I can’t wear fleece lined anymore. They are too hot for me. French terry is perfect. Older Reigning Champ sweats can be found cheaply on resale sites and are worth seeking out.

  I’m looking for a BIFL hoodie

  If you run hot, loopback fleece is the cooler option right from the start... it breathes better even if it feels a bit rough straight out of the bag. Most of the trouble with hoodies comes from the fleece pilling and the whole thing sagging after a year, so going for a proper heavyweight cotton fleece in the 12-14 oz range makes a real difference. Cover stitched seams help keep everything aligned, while overlock seams can twist and give out at the shoulders. Ring spun long staple cotton keeps the surface cleaner without shedding fuzz everywhere. A shorter body usually comes from a rib waistband that actually grips instead of going slack, and dense ribbing in the 500-700 gsm range is the usual sign. Reigning Champ midweight or Camber 12 oz fit your budget and hit these points although you might find yourself wishing the colour choices were a bit broader and that sentence just keeps going without a pause at all Elastane can still cook you and it gives up elastisity long before the cotton does.

  If you started your wardrobe over from scratch, what would you buy? (US)

  Lululemon ABC Warpstreme/Vuori Meta/Rhone Commuters in Khaki for my everyday/work pants. Reigning Champ/VRST/Lululemon Sweatpants/Joggers for lounging. Several long sleeves, a couple quarter zips and a couple t-shirts from similar brands. Shoe/Boots wise, I'm pretty stuck on Jim Greens.

  Mens Robes with hood and pockets?

  You’ve mostly described my Reigning Champ robe, which I purchased years ago BEFORE their buyout, so I can’t speak much to their quality today. Not sure if the quality of their current robes has been impacted or not. But I like the one that I have.

  Best plain white tee?

  I’ve put it in this sub before, but Buck Mason Field Spec is the best no frills blank tee shirt you can buy at a reasonable price. Lady White and Whitesville are wonderful, but more difficult to find under MSRP and are only marginally better imo. The commonality of Buck Mason helps here as well- you can find these tees in good condition for dirt cheap in both consignment stores and online (eBay, poshmark). If you want to do your own research, consider Alex Mill slub tees, as well as Reigning Champ (before they moved their production from Vancouver to Vietnam). A deeper cut are the tubular knit tees from Bronson MFG for $30ish. Looking for a no frills option you can refill on? Comfort Colors is surprisingly reliable. Lots of good options at or under ~$35, great time to be a blank tee enthusiast.

  Why is it so hard to find well-made clothes that aren't insanely priced?

  Check out Reigning Champ. Their clothes wear like iron. Kinda pricey, but not nearly $700/sweater pricey.

  Vuori - Tuvalu tee. I own like 7 of them. Washes well. Doesn’t shrink. Plain colors. One small exterior tag on the bottom left side hem of the shirt. reigning champ - their long sleeve t shirts are my go to. I own about 6 in different colors.

  I’ve been really happy with Reigning Champ stuff for a year or two. They have high quality stuff made of good cotton. You can feel the difference in the fabric and the drape. They also have a lot of Raglan cuts which I like for t shirts.

  Fed up with crappy tshirts. Tried Sene as a last resort (brutally honest review)

  Even though Reigning Champ has moved their production off-shore, I think their t-shirts are still the best for me. I am also having luck with Lady White.

  High quality sweaters and hoodies - suggestions?

  I treated myself to reigning champ sweats at the beginning of the pandemic. Medium reverse terry hoody and sweatpants. The sweatpants got holes in the pockets (the original pair another pair I purchased), but the hoodie is still in rotation. Love that hoodie, I have several others as well now.

  True. Been a fan of Reigning Champ for over 15 years now (since their label added 'CYC Design'). I still have around 40-50 pieces and they hold strong. If you're in BC, I recommended looking around used item online since they sell extremely cheap price these days.

  I have the heavyweight reigning champ made in Canada hoodie. It’s comfortable and very solid but truthfully I haven’t owned it very long. I have definitely been eyeing the Dehen 1920 cardigans next.
