  Looking for a couch that is actually worth the money- why does it feel impossible?

  If you can get the sofa for $300 or less you can make this work. Expect the upholstery labor cost to be around $1200 not including fabric choice or foam. You will want to replace the foam in a 60s/70s sofa. Fabric will range from $25-150/yd (or more) depending on your taste. Most upholstery shops will have books for you to look through. I had a mid century modern sofa I was planning to reupholster when I found one on Facebook marketplace that was made in 2013 and had the same shape as my sectional. I was searching for years for a new sofa and one day at work I checked marketplace and there she was. Key in brands like Rowe (that’s what I have) Lee, Kravet, & Norwalk. These are all US made furniture brands that use quality materials and frame structures, most of which are custom made for clients. Some big box stores like Serena & lily use Lee frames.

  Please help! Which couch (store)

  You are not alone. We are all here because we have been searching, fruitlessly and tirelessly, for a quality couch. Don't be like me and do years of research only to end up with something that is too firm but looks pretty. If you don't mind a slightly more traditional or vintage look, learn the top quality brands and pounce on them on facebook marketplace. Ethan Allen, CR Laine, Rowe, anything Italian, most Room and Board or Arhaus models. Expand your radius to search in the wealthier parts of town. You can get top quality pieces in really good condition for a fraction of the price. And you can make any style work with the right design around it. An English roll-arm can look really cool with a more modern rug and coffee table. Pay close attention to dimensions - the seat depth and height is important for how it will sit. Tell them you want to come see it before making an offer. People will negotiate bc they're just happy you're getting it out of their space. If it's a vintage couch that looks almost new, chances are that thing is built to last.

  Please help! Which couch (store)

  I bought from a local store and it’s held up well . The brand is Rowe and it’s made in the US. It was about the same price as Lovesac but we thought it seemed much higher quality.

  Desperate for a couch that doesn't suck

  Take a look at Rowe - made to order, lots of styles and fabrics to choose from. Made in NC or southern VA. I recommend paying for the upgraded cushions. We had a Rowe couch and chair last 20 years thru 5 moves, 2 kids and dogs. It was our primary family room furniture for most of that time, so it got a lot of use. The couch we replaced it with had coils in the cushions and they eventually broke free which made the couch uncomfortable (and ugly). Only lasted for a few years.

  Sectional couch Kincaid or Rowe?

  Excellently. Abused by teenagers and an exuberant golden retriever, but you’d never know it. Will definitely replace with another Rowe when it’s time. My wife reminded me that we had a Rowe couch 25 years ago, too. Not a sectional, but just a regular couch. It lasted until we got tired of the style.

  Sectional couch Kincaid or Rowe?

  I’m not familiar with Kincaid, but am sitting on my 10 year old Rowe sectional. It’s our second one. The first was replaced by the current one only to change the style. They’re very well made and comfy.
