  Water bottle for my girlfriend

  8 years ago I grabbed an RTIC water bottle and (here is the key) FOUR SPARE LIDS. I am on my second lid and the brand has changed lid designs at least once. Any stainless water bottle will be around forever. The plastic components, springs, straws and so on will be what fails. RTIC, KLEAN KANTEEN, YETI will all serve you well as long as you buy spares of the parts that can fail.

  Best corporate gifting platform for durable, long lasting employee gifts?

  I work with truck drivers, and their boss puts a lot of thought into gifts. My personal favorites are: Yeti coffee mug, that's 4 years old and is stained on the inside, but otherwise perfect 2 different Stanley water bottles. They're not my dailies anymore because we got a bigger off brand water bottle that I prefer. Carhart winter coat. 2-3 years old and seriously the best thing I've gotten. RTIC lunch box. This is getting dirty but other than that, looks good for almost a year of near daily use. This isn't branded because boss didnt order in time for that, but still free

  Looking to replace my hydro flask 64oz

  In my opinion, good options are the RTIC 64-ounce vacuum bottle or the YETI Rambler 64-ounce bottle (usually closer to $100). The main thing is that the wider the neck, the easier it is to put ice cubes in, so look for models with a wide neck.

  Rtic brand is what we use at our house. They are tough, keep shit cold, and no straws or plastic to deal with. My teenager switched to owala last year when her kid broke (from being thrown, eye roll)

  My job gave us Rtic bottles for some 50 year anniversary thing. They are very well built. I can put ice into it in the evening before bed, leave it on my bedside table all day while I am at work, come home, and there is still loads of ice and cold water in there

  Glass Lined Jug (or similar)

  It would be pretty silly to pay Yeti prices. Rtic is $32 for 64oz and $48 for 128oz. I have a gallon jug that I use daily for several years, no problems, works and looks new.

  I’ll throw some love for Rtic out there. Have the 1/2 gallon and gallon jug. Zero issues except dents from the hell I put it through camping, golfing, etc.

  I use FrostBuddy Thicc Buddy, better than a Stanley. Can fit any fountain drink cup which I rarely use that. I also have a half gallon RTIC.

  I had a yeti 36 oz rambler but I never loved how it doesn't fit in cup holders. I recently found an RTIC 40 oz tumbler for $7 at walmart and I freaking love it. I already new I liked RTIC coolers, but when they first had drinkware it wasn't ceramic lined and some of the "stainless" steel got rusty weeks after I purchased it. Maybe I had 1 bad bottle, but it drove me back to yeti until now.

  Longest? I have Nalgenes I bought in the 1980s still. They are yellowed but work. But I don't use them much anymore. My favorites now are all Yeti, Hydroflask, RTIC, and Kleen Kanteen. Every one was thrifted, so cost my $6 or less. All are basically the same insulated stainless construction; the only meaningful differences are the tops. They work great. I have a bunch since I keep them at home, at work, in the truck, and we're using them with the entire family. That said, I have a dozen or more that need to go to Goodwill, mostly plastic ones I'll never use again. Most of those were gimmes from work or conferences.

  40oz Water Bottle/Tumbler for a clumsy person

  If you otherwise like your current bottle, getting a boot might help keep it even with a dented bottom. I added a boot to one of my Owalas with a nasty dent on the bottom and it helped keep it flat on my desk until I replaced it. I've dropped my Camelbak Chute Mag out the cab of a Freightliner M2 106 onto asphalt a few times (rolling out, hitting the step first) and it's just got some scrapes but no dents. I don't claim it's immune to dents, but it doesn't dent by just looking at it wrong like an Owala. I think the "Thrive" model replaced the Chute, haven't tried that one yet. I do wish it was taller so it could be less wide, I've got gigantic cupholders in my Xterra and it barely fits with a boot on. I've had RTIC bottles (Outback) hold up well to bumps and stuff but I hate their lids because it's so restricting for trying to get good large gulps. If they made a wider mouth, I would use an RTIC 40oz Outback as my main everyday bottle.

  I have Yeti, RTIC, BruMate, Members Mark, and CamelBak.  .The most insulative has been Members Mark and RTIC.  . The longest lasting exterior coaking has been CamelBak.  . The least staining inside has been Yeti and RTIC. I'd definitely get a wide mouthed style for dishwasher cleaning, and the uncoated outside, just because that gives out first, but will lose a bit of insulation.

  Ah, that changes things a bit. Roto-molded coolers are the best out there, keeping ice the longest. They're also absolute tanks and will stand up to years of abuse. But they're heavy and bulky. I looked up Titan coolers, and they really look like just day trip coolers. They're not going to keep anything cold very long, and using a bigger ice block is kind of defeating the point of a smaller / lighter cooler. There is a middle ground, though: soft coolers. I have an older [one of these](https://rticoutdoors.com/Ultra-Tough-Backpack-Cooler), and it does pretty well. I've kept smaller amounts of ice for over 2 days in it. They make smaller non-backpack versions that could work too. They're much lighter, and the slight squishiness makes them fit in more places. So it's really up to your exact kit and what you want to trade off. If it were me, I would probably try to fit a small roto cooler for perishables, and another soft cooler for drinks & non-perishables. But it all depends on your other kit, how long you're staying out, and what kind of cooking you do. One tip for keeping things cold: get the largest cooler you can fit, and fill it up with as much mass as you can (food + ice). Don't dump the water out as it melts. You want maximum thermal mass in the cooler at all times.

  Short answer is yes. Longer answer is that you don't need to sped Yeti money to get the performance of the Yeti. Any rotomolded cooler will suffice. RTIC performs as well and cost less, for example. Also, if you want the best performance, pre-chill the cooler 24 hours before you stuff drinks in it and make sure the drinks are pre-chilled as well. With everything pre-chilled, you should get at least 4 days out of block ice (depending on the size of the blocks).

  Which bags (for men) do you recommend when going to the beach?

  Depends on what you need to carry but I’ve enjoyed the RTIC waterproof tote so far. It’s pretty hefty quality and has a waterproof pouch for smaller devices. It’s very simple but is big enough for towels, drinks/snacks, etc for multiple people and easy to clean out afterward. Alternative would be an RTIC or Yeti portable-style cooler (“softer” models with a shoulder strap, not the hard coolers)

  Stanley bottle rusty after 1 month

  They were Yeti clones for cheap and I'm not sure if they make identical ones anymore but they do still make the Yeti ramblers. I kind of assumed the same overseas factory made them all. Anyway the double walked vacuum all stainless steel with the only seam in the metal being outside of the bottom Yeti clones are super sturdy

  This is so true. Every time shit hits the fan I find myself going to the camping gear. Things that have come in handy: - jackery solar panel & power bank - LED lights - shelf stable food requiring minimal prep - camping utensils, plates, cups, stove & lighters - camelbak, larger water reservoirs & lifestraw - RTIC cooler - first aid kit, tampons, sunscreen & bug repellent - Work gloves & tools (esp. shovel & chainsaw) - pocketknife/multitool - battery operated headlamps - sleeping bags

  The 2025 Shutdown of ORCA Coolers

  I am a fan of RTIC coolers. I have 5 or 6 of them. I have had the zipper pull on a soft cooler break which they sent me a replacement(I had already put some paracord on it and never used the new pull), the wire tie used to tether the drain caps is dumb and I cut them off, outside of those issues I think they are phenomenal coolers and a great value.

  Are these insulated stainless steel type coffee mugs BIFL? Would like to take to my outdoor worksite everyday and wondering if they can take a beating?

  Yeti sure will last. Or rtic for basically the same Thing for half the price. That said though, if you drop a double-walled mug enough times or just the right way and break the seal between the two walls, it's useless. If you're careful with it, absolutely the last, but if you drop them the wrong way or enough times, you will be replacing them regardless of what company made them.

  I bought a 26oz Rtic bottle about 5-6 years ago for $12. It goes with me everyday everywhere and keeps water ice cold all day. I also have a 12oz Hydroflask coffee tumbler that is used for coffee only. It’s fantastic as well.

  They unquestionably have a high quality product but that markups are completely unreasonable. RTIC makes a product of equal quality for quite a bit less. They aren’t cheap, probably still too expensive, but they are better priced than yeti
