A few brands I'll probably stick with for life
For me, it’s been Origin USA for my clothes & boots. Glock for pistols, kershaw (only the USA made ones) for pocket knife’s, wusthof for kitchen knife’s, Toyota for cars/trucks, saddleback leather for wallet/belt/briefcase/totes. Side note, Saddleback just started making boots but they are more than double the price of my tried & true OriginUSA boots. I still love my iron rangers from red wing as well so they’re a great buy.

Ok but Made in Mexico is about the same as made in canada or the usa though. Volkswagens and Toyotas are made in mexico. Its a cut above made in Indonesia. You ever buy a a made in mexico fender guitar? Its essentially the same guitar, all they do is add cheaper electronics and dont roll the fretboard to nerf it (easy fixes). So made in mexico is actually really good quality nowadays especially with certain goods like clothes and shoes. Thursday boots are pretty damned good boots for 200 dollars, theyre made in mexico. Saddleback leather bags are all made in mexico.

Love 41 (more womanly styles) has a 41 year warranty bc they have zippers, buttons. Saddleback (mostly rugged styles, but some totes and purses) has 100 year warranty because they have more durable hardware, like d-rings, clasps, etc and less prone to breakage. Both companies are run by a husband/wife.

Learn to recognize what makes a purse high quality. Full-grain, saddle-stitched, rolled edges, etc. bags will outlast something that's machine stitched, "genuine" or faux leather with raw edges. Little King Goods, Saddleback, or Colonel Littleton all get my vote.

Saddleback leather. Work in construction where you put the tape measure on your belt. Mainly used the 25' ones so its larger. It would rub on it daily due to always using the tape. Had it for 5 years and still going strong. However the only issue I had was the buckle bent . I asked them if I can just buy the buckle but they said no and gave me a new belt free of charge.

Third - Leather: She got me a dope saddleback bag for work. (I built her an insane potting bench out of 4x4s and 2x6 planks) Fourth - Fruit/Flowers: She got me hardy kiwi plants for our yard. I bought her a bay laurel plant among other things. Fifth - Wood: We already have too much MC furnishings, so we bought each other fruit trees to replace a huge tree we had to remove this year.

REAL leather bifold wallet
Saddleback leather has a great reputation but I’ve never used one. I would try to find a local saddle shop (if you have any) and see if they make wallets. That’s the direction that I went. I’ve also got a leather trayvax wallet that’s not a bifold but it’s held up great over the last 5 years. Also check Odin leather goods. He’s expensive but high quality.

Groove Life Anodized Aluminum Wallet. I went on this quest about 2 years ago. This wallet was my holy grail. Good as the day I bought it. Before this, I was a Saddleback slim wallet guy and pretty happy also. The Groove Life pops the credit cards up slightly stepped, so you can pick exactly the one you want quickly. With the leather Go wallet attached, I have everything I need in a pretty compact packet.

10-year-old Saddleback Leather wallet vs new replacement
How does it hold up as far as not snapping your plastic cards? That's the one issue I have with wallets no matter the price. My cards always end up bending on their edge or snapping in them. Or they start slipping out from their pocket wearing out. And I hate the type that the ID flap pulls out completely. I'm on one of those card sized metal ones that holds 6 cards on a flicker that pops them out. And I have 3 more on the elastic around it. No room for cash now which does have it's pros and cons. It's tight and secure but a year with it and I still haven't gotten use to it's near weightlessness. Would love to find a truly great leather wallet.

They are still in business? That's good to hear- I have a Saddleback briefcase that I have used (heavily as I am an academic) for maybe 10 or 15 years now. The tongue on the buckle is softer and there are some stains from having rained on it. Um, that's it. My biggest complaint is that the card holder slots get looser, but once in a while I take out all the cards and keep the wallet compressed between two heavy flat objects overnight. Here's my list of brands that have earned my loyalty: * **Saddleback leather -** It's pricy, but I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased there and the quality is rock solid. I've now bought multiple bags, a wallet that I've carried for 10+ years, and a desk pad. * **Patagonia** \- Great company, great products, great warranty. * **Lodge** \- The best value Cast Iron around. Sure, you can find better pans. . . for 5-10x the cost. Lodge delivers an excellent product at a very fair price. * **Spyderco** \- I spent a lot of years casually collecting pocket knives, with well over a hundred pocket knives in my set. Spyderco isn't necessarily the fanciest, and some people don't care for the look, but their excellent quality and the functionality is top notch. * **Victorinox** \- A Swiss Army Knife is still a great knife and I carry one regularly. Their multi-tools are better than Leatherman, and their kitchen knives are rockstars for the price. * **ThermoWorks** \- If you want a good thermometer (and if you cook, you do), this is the brand you should buy. The Thermapen is the gold standard, but the ThermoPop is a great budget option, the SPOT is a great fridge thermometer, and the DOT is an amazing probe thermometer. I've got half a dozen thermometers from ThermoWorks and I wouldn't buy one from anyone else. * **Rockwell Razors** \- Traditional safety razors. I bought their Original 6S Stainless from their first Kickstarter. The first attempt didn't cut it quality-wise. Rockwell made it right by replacing the razors from everyone who received the first batch of sub-par razors. I haven't seen any Kickstarter company that went as far as Rockwell did to take care of their backers. And the final product hit it out of the park. I've bought multiple razors from them since and they're all excellent. I'm probably forgetting a few, but I have trust and faith in the quality of anything I buy from these companies.

Saddleback medium bifold or Pioneer altitude wallet?
I have the bifold cash and it works well in my front pocket. If you’re a back pocket person I’d recommend something more low profile.

I’ve bought way too much Saddleback gear including bifold wallet and have nothing but positive feedback. A bit bulky for back pocket so I recommend the front.

I couldn’t agree more, a good company with great service and stand behind their products and warrantees is paramount for customer satisfaction. There seems to be a lot of love for SaddleBack here, I’m gonna have to really look hard at them for belts and wallets.

I have a Saddleback Old Bull belt since October 2017 that I use as my daily belt. It still looks great and I can't tell that it's two pieces of leather. Some crease marks by where the holes are, but I consider those normal wear and tear. Don't have any experience with the other brands. I also have their bifold wallet and their front pocket wallet. Both have held up great and longer than any of my previous wallets.

I've had a Saddleback tow belt for about 15 years. Worn daily. I don't think they make that model any more. Think the latest one is called the Old bull belt. It has held up great over the years. Will buy again.

Don’t know much about pioneer. I have saddleback for last 5 years and it’s a very good wallet. My brother likes his leatherology. They are like cheaper versions of maxwell-scott wallets.

BIFL people are pretty price-insensitive, but $500 for a wallet is * **insane** *. The below list all have lifetime warranty programs.
