Men’s pouch underwear that survives gym + running + hiking?
Saxx if I had wash and hang dry last so long. But those that go through the washer / dryer last me 6 months. Once we learned this, it was amazing how long the elastic lasts. I have pairs over 4yrs old. When I was running regularly, I just left them on when I went into the shower they got a good rinse then I'd hang them. So as to not have smelly underwear all week. Then hand wash in a large tub with a light detergents and hot water from my kettle (little hotter than I can stand with my hands let soak for 20min then just rinse and hang again.

SAXX and B3NTH for me have been pretty good - none are BIFL - I buy during sales. b3nth have been especially good, SAXX is available at more places

Looking for women’s boxer briefs that aren’t Woxer
cheap+bifl doesn't always go together, sometimes more expensive options are just better. i've heard nothing but good things about woxer, but tomboyx is also a decent option. men's boxer briefs that don't have a pouch at all or just not a big one are also good options. decent cheaper option is american eagle, only thing i still buy from them, and saxx is also a good option.

SAXX Boxers Briefs | Good or Bad option?
I bought some years ago. I have since exclusively worn them. They keep things from flailing around when working out, and the fabric is comfortable. I had issues with the sport style as I call it, the elastic sweat wicking style, but still have about 4 pairs I use. I am looking for the cotton style since I’ve worn all mine ratty. If you like them soft and comfortable they’re worth it. My view is that I want what I like, and will pay for it if it lasts a while. I will have to buy new ones at some point, but they should last me a year or more. Mine have all been used past that point, through weight gain, into too big for them, and working out reducing my weight. The biggest issue is that I prefer stair master for an hour at a time for pounds of body weight loss. So will they last forever? No, duh, and neither do my shoes or shirts. 5 pairs for 80$, that should get me through next near, though I might get 1-2 more pairs for a full week wear. The cotton are great for everyday, the spandex or elastic whatever sport style are great for working out and keeping things a bit less floppy. Btw, about to drive 37 miles to get mine tonight because I want them now, not next month.

Been using SAXX for like 2 years now and honestly they're still solid, maybe just avoid their cheaper lines and stick with the premium ones

SAXX Boxers Briefs | Good or Bad option?
Meh. They're not bad. The "ballpark Frank holder" or whatever felt kind of flimsy. Any modern boxers with modal as the primary fabric I've found to be best. If saxx is using them, it should be good. But I've learned from being assigned to laundry at a young age (and seeing my old man's undies), none of them should be "buy it for life". Spoil yourself.

SAXX Boxers Briefs | Good or Bad option?
I bought several models of the pocket briefs years ago to try. The saxx quest are the best balance of comfort and BIFL in my opinion. The modal ones are softer but will get holes the fastest. I have some quest ones over 10 years old now. Air dry helps elastic last longer and they dry fast anyway. The quest 2.0 ones that I replaced others with have a slightly wider waistband and are even better. I haven't tried any newer brands as I have no need to replace the dozen or so quest ones I have.

I like them, the Quest are my favorites and I've had most of their models. They're more expensive than I'd like them to be, but I haven't found anything else that I like enough. B3NTH are a little more comfortable, but wear out that much faster so they haven't can worth it to get more

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
Pair of thieves from Target are really good, especially their cooling fabric. Duluth are good too. Saxx are my favorite for colder weather. All have plenty of room for your junk.

Men’s underwear that actually lasts does it exist?
Another Saxx Quest bro here. I bought my first set in 2015, and must have bought near 18 total pairs between then and 2019. Still have all but 2 of them - those had the top of the elastic start fraying. I didn't know they got bought out and changed their fabrics, guess when these finally go I'll have to take a look at Manmade and ExOfficio, 'cause I made the mistake of trying B3neath and they were horribly uncomfortable for me.

I like the ballsack feature of SAXX, but I’ve found their sizing to be very inconsistent across models. I have a size XL in one model that is tighter than the L in another. I’m 5’11” - 180.

Great fitting underwear is a pleasure I never want to lose. I got into meundies for a while their quality was really good until covid and then they showed their true colours as Trump simps all while profiteering off LGBTQ acceptance messeges. I recently tried out SAXX a canadian brand and so far really happy, they have way better prints than when I checked years ago and their junk pouch is super comfy

Quality synthetic briefs from SAXX will last a very long time *if* you follow the care instructions - machine wash cool and tumble dry low or hang dry. I hang dry and have pairs 3 years old that are still like new.

Men’s underwear that actually lasts does it exist?
I agree with saxx, but for me its specifically the "quest" one. Don't buy full price though you can find sales and packs for cheaper. I work construction outside and these are the bees knees. I dont like their compression ones, loose fit, or the other fabric choices (i think there was another mesh-like one that was ok but the model name escapes me) The bathing suits are nice too.

I have to spend $150 at amazon this week
\- **Bag:** Timbuk2 Classic Messenger bag. I've had mine for 6 years used as a full-time commute/computer bag, occasional range bag, then as a diaper bag for a few years, then as my fishing bag most recently. The only issue I've had is a broken buckle but that was my fault closing it in a car door. **- Multi-tool:** Leatherman multi-tools: My dad had the same one 20+ years before he died. I've been using a Free p4 model for 4ish years with no issues through a lot of both hard use and daily use type tasks, and very little care (re-tightened screws twice and apply a little oil occasionally). **- Knife:** Essee Izula 2, affordable, great lifetime warranty, small enough to EDC and for delicate tasks, tough enough to baton wood, the blade shape and size make it very versatile. Does require basic care (dry and oil) and you may not like the sheath that comes with it. **- Wool blend Socks:** My smart wools have lasted me like 5 years, my wigwams are my most comfortable, my darn toughs are also great. **- Good underwear:** My ExOfficios have lasted seemingly forever. I've been married 9 years today and I'm pretty sure a few of the sadder pairs in my dresser are almost that old. Saxx are incredibly comfy but don't last. **- Light Jacket:** I've had a Patagonia Jacket since 2009 that is one of my more used jackets, patagonia repaired the main zipper two years ago for free/cheap. Jack Wolfskin wind shirt/jacket, also had since 2009 and it's been pretty brutally treated through Military stuff, backpacking, a short stint doing heavy pipefitting, and a lot of hunting/fishing. I've literally just partially retired it in the last few weeks for a Helikon-Tex Woodsman Anorak, I'll still keep the wolfskin for a farm work layer until it completely dies. **- Wallet:** I've had a Rogue Industries front pocket wallet as my only wallet since 2015, the only reason I need to replace it after 10 years is because I got the nylon one instead of the leather, pretty sure the leather would last at least 15-20 years. **- Water bottles/thermos:** Classic Nalgene bottles are very rugged and last forever. Classic Stanley thermos, it will take a house fire to kill it. My insulated Kleen Kanteen has also taken tremendous abuse and clumsiness.

The Darn Tough of boxer briefs?
Saxx, B3NTH, Bombas and most recently Spanx are my favorite. Common to all, they are a Modal blend. Modal is the most comfortable and in these brands quite durable. All of them stays on firm, not tight. They don't loosen up and ultimately wear like a regular pair of boxers.

How to identify good quality clothing (so you don’t waste your $$$)
Just a note. For when you want a synthetic blend (i.e. gym clothes/sunshirts) hunt for ones that are predominantly nylon. Nylon is both sturdier and oleophobic which means it naturally repels oil where polyester attracts it. Its the oil getting trapped in polyester that makes it stink/stain so fast. A few recommendations: Saxx Kinetic line for compression shorts, Lululemon License to Train line for gym clothes, Black diamond alpenglow pro sun shirts

Do you have any reccs similar to butter blend? I got a pair a few years back and haven’t found anything comfier. From what I understand while they might last a few years they quickly pill, which is why I’m hesitant to get more.
