I use the scrub daddy. I can get a whole box of them at Costco for not very much and they last a decent amount of time. They clean up nicely in the dishwasher. I don't want BIFL kitchen scrubbers though. Some things are just meant to be thrown away.

I’ll never go back to regular sponges after discovering scrub daddies. I keep mine sanitary by microwaving it for about 45 seconds, then dousing it with a kettle of boiling water.

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
Always hated Scrub Daddy and that stupid face shaped sponge. My brother used them when we lived together in college and I despised it and even got my own normal sponges to use. But I recently got their scour sponges they have, that are basically the same thing but wrapped in a softer scour thing and isn't in the shape of that stupid face. And I actually love it. Stopped using my sponge wand that fucking sucks anyway and use that almost exclusively.

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
Scrub Daddy. If you’re a plebeian like myself who doesn’t have a dishwasher, these things are amazing for washing dishes. They will of course, never last a lifetime. However, compared to regular sponges they do. I’ve been using the same one for months and it’s in almost as good of shape as the brand new ones (3 pack). Doesn’t smell, isn’t dirty. I use it practically daily and not just for dishes either, stovetop, counters, and sink too. Also, Double Edge Safety Razor. I did end up splurging on an awesome handle that was well over $50, but my first one which worked nearly as good was $20. Don’t buy them from Amazon, get them in person from Home Depot or Lowe’s. The ones on Amazon are fake/inferior quality. I recently(ish) had this happen and replaced it with an in person purchased sponge and it’s already lasted twice as long and the previous one and has no signs of falling apart.

Scrub-it sponges. They are washable and don't fall apart or crumble. They are my new go-to. Use until smelly > Swap with fresh one > washer/dryer stinky one > done. It's been 6 months and I'm still rotating between the first 2 in a pack of 8.

im going to assume this is a legit question lol i use blue dawn soap / spray and wash on mine everytime i cook. my routine is.. 1. let cool after cooking 1. wash with hot water and soap. using a chain mail scrubber if needed otherwise a scrub daddy. 1. towel dry. 1. place on stove on medium heat letting it warm to finish drying out the metal. 1. oil it with oil of choice over the entire pan. 1. wipe off excess oil and store slidey eggs are slidey.

What to buy for upkeep of house as a 22M?
For learning to cook, hello fresh has helped a lot. The meals are healthier than fast food, and only slightly more expensive than grocery shopping, but someone else does the menu planning and portioning for you. It's saved me hundreds of dollars on takeout. Get one or two good stainless steel pans, one or two pots/saucepans, a good chef's knife, and a cutting board (I went epicurean). You can find measuring cups, spoons, rubber spatulas, etc for cheap, and they'll last long enough. Get an electric kettle for any time you need to boil water. Flush with diluted white vinegar to get rid of mineral build up, and ideally use a Brita or refrigerator with a built in water filter to prevent that. If you drink coffee, I miss the Cuisinart coffee maker with the SS front that I used to have. I think it was like $40. You can also get a single serve. Either way, you'll save more than you spent in the first month making your own coffee at home, the markup is ridiculous. A decent clothes iron shouldn't be too expensive, but the cheap ironing boards wear out. Depending on how often you wear button downs and slacks, it may be worth it to invest in something higher end. There's a vacuum cleaner subreddit that gives better advice than I can. All I'll say is: there are some vacuums out there that are a waste of money, and some at every price point that are actually worth it. I'm personally not a fan of Swiffer. Get really any broom and dustpan that feels solid, and also a hand broom. Get a mop with replaceable machine washable heads, and even a cheap plastic bucket is better than being stuck using sinks. Get a water bottle brush, a pots and pans scrubber, and a scrub daddy. I personally don't like sponges, but that's up to you. Also stainless steel wool is useful when stuff sticks to your cookware. Never use steel wool on nonstick. Fabric softener doesn't actually soften fabric, it just coats it. Up to you if you want to use that. You can get dryer balls if you don't like the feeling dryer sheets leave on your clothes. If you sweat it have a hard time with smells in your clothes, you can add washing soda (dissolve in the hottest water you can) to your detergent, and hex or some other sanitizer instead of fabric softener. The sanitizer isn't super necessary, but I do use it for workout clothes sometimes. Get mesh garment bags for when you need to wash something delicate in the same load as blue jeans. Get a hamper or laundry bag. You spend a third of your life in bed. There's no "best bed", it varies person to person, but investing in a good night's sleep is worth it. I got high thread count sheets from Costco and they were worth every penny.

You don’t need to use metal and there sure as shit isn’t a buy it for life version of a basic cleaning product. You need a sponge (preferably a scrub daddy they are amazing) and some bar keepers friend. That will remove anything and will have your pans looking as good as the day you bought them

So you know the Scrubdaddy sponge? Well they make a Scour Daddy as well, which is a modern take on the steel wool scourers. I've personally found both the Scrub and Scourdaddy's to be a huge help in the kitchen.
