Thinking ahead: What BIFL Xmas gifts are you planning?
Not OP but I have some Seki I have had for probably a decade by now and all other clippers have been thrown away since then because they are far superior to whatever junk I had before

If I told younger me, "One day, you will get enthusiastic about nail clippers", he'd call me a liar. But he'd be wrong.
Worth it. Also.... It's Saturday morning, and I'm excited to see this thread. This is adulthood.

NYT just put out a list of their BIFL picks
I asked for Seki nail clipper for Christmas one year. Stainless steel, made in Japan, high quality nail clipper would always be on my essentials list.

NYT just put out a list of their BIFL picks
They clip very well. Not a lot of pressure needed, and the cut is cleaner in comparison to generic clippers. After getting the seki clippers, I'll never go back. But I don't think it's something anybody really needs.

Victorinox knives. Mocamaster coffee machine. Saddleback leather. All clad pots and pans. Tweezerman tweezers. Seki nail clippers. Parker Jotter pens. Texas Instruments calculator. Maui Jim sunglasses. Estwing hammer. Allen Edmond dress shoes. Honorable mentions that are top quality but not for life: Melin hats (closest to bifl caps). Vornado fans (5-10yr warranty). Thursday boots (great price to quality ratio).

Recommending the Japanese nail clippers
Seki (and Mehaz but german) have been the best for me. Muji was my travel go to but they seem to not make the smaller one anymore (kept losing them or friends and family would take them....) . Daiso was a pleasant surprise (though probably made in China) but will see with time how they last.
