Is there anything you're convinced is "the cheaper the better"?
Yeah, I have allergic reactions to everything but Sensodyne. Anything else will result in painful angular cheilitis that lasts for days or even a few weeks after I switch back.

as an actual vintage old guy, invest in your teeth. Take care of your vintage teeth
I am not a dentist. This is not medical advice. I did, however, spend some time digging through what little I can understand of current dental literature and it seems there are a few things that can help (but not cure) some types of dental sensitivity. I have a few sensitive teeth. Using stannous fluoride is a good one to look for on the ingredients, instead of or in addition to sodium fluoride. Having a toothpaste that had calcium carbonate or calcium phosphate in it also helps; phosphate seems to be the best for pressure sensitive teeth. I eventually ended up choosing Sensodyne Sensitivity and Gum Repair, but Repair and Protect might be a better one for you. It won't fix your issues, they sound severe, but with some luck it might help even a smidge.

What product would you seriously stockpile if you found out they weren't going to sell it anymore?
I stocked up on Sensodyne toothpaste with novamin, because I can only get it in Canada (or online for a premium, but I don't trust it as much) Got 15 tubes on my last trip.

Best Cotton Underwear for Women, what do you wear?
Whitening toothpastes don’t usually do a whole lot beyond surface stains. They’re good for maintenance but won’t give you a big jump in shade. If you actually want noticeable results without wrecking your enamel, a proper whitening kit is usually the way to go. Something to look into is an at-home kit that uses carbamide peroxide gel. It breaks down into hydrogen peroxide (the actual whitening agent) more slowly, which makes it gentler and easier for sensitive teeth to handle. You basically put a thin layer of gel in the tray and pop it in for about 10 minutes and you’re good. Just make sure you test it first on a small spot because everyone reacts differently. If you feel irritation or any weird sensitivity, stop right away and maybe check in with a dentist. For toothpaste itself, think of it more as upkeep. Go for something like Crest 3D White or Sensodyne’s whitening version helps maintain brightness after you’ve done the heavy lifting with strips or a kit.

Dental Hygiene / Toothbrushes - If you had $2,500 to spend what would you buy?
his and hers water pik combos so it comes with the travel version. get several dozen gal. size of blue listerine to run through the water piks every night. his and hers of the fancy sonicare toothbrush with the charding glass cup. maybe a year or more of heads for the sonicares. send away for the good sensodyne with the special secret ingredient that rebuilds plaque that you can't get on the shelf here in the US spring for a supply of the good floss. the one i am talking about is glide. get a decent supply of the single use soft picks to keep in the car, the office, your purse etc. did i miss anything?

The Best Teeth Whitening Recommended to Buy?
The Carifree toothpaste with nano-hydroxyapatite is also pH balanced. This is my go to and it’s available to patients to buy on their website in the US. Only downside is that it doesn’t have potassium chloride in the formula so I alternate use with Sensodyne Pronamel when my teeth are feeling sensitive.

The Best Teeth Whitening Recommended to Buy?
Sensodyne from outside the US is more effective. It has an additional active ingredient, NovaMin, which is not in the US formulation as the FDA regulates toothpaste as a drug vs the rest of the world as a food. Nano hydroxyapatite is another option and available from a number of brands online, but I'm not aware of any of the national brands with shelf space in US stores carrying it.

The Best Teeth Whitening Recommended to Buy?
Another dentist here. Sensodyne is great. And with toothpastes if you go through a tube and find you didn’t notice an improvement you can always try another kind.

The Best Teeth Whitening Recommended to Buy?
I used to slack on my dental care and lowkey still do (I miss mornings and nights relatively often) but I get compliments on how white my teeth are now. Crest strips and toothpaste definitely help. I swear they even improved my gum health/periodontal disease. I use regular listerine mouth wash, crest strips occasionally (and I didn’t always use the light thing), any fluoride whitening toothpaste (crest at first, now sensodyne) and an electric toothbrush. I do avoid carbs and juice. And I do not rinse my toothpaste out after I brush.

The Best Teeth Whitening to Buy that Works?
Best friend is a dentist. She just tells me the best toothpaste you could get regardless price is always gonna be something that doesn’t specify whitening. Because it’s almost always too tough on the teeth. Hence the whitening bc it’s scraping enamel. But sensodyne above all, bc even their ‘whitening’ paste is not corrosive like the others.

The Best Teeth Whitening to Buy that Works?
Dentist here. Depends on degree of staining. Make sure you have had a professional cleaning or maintenance in the last 6 months. Additionally this is not really a buy it for life situation. If you keep chewing espresso beans and gargling with Merlot you will see limited results, if any. A likely starting point is Crest Whitestrips and in particular a sensitivity one. You can try to leave something like Sensodyne on your teeth for 20 minutes before and after. The active ingredient is potassium nitrate (really). Much easier with carrier trays or even clear aligners or retainers. A step up would be Opalescence Go trays which you can get on Amazon, but you will likely experience more sensitivity. If it’s really bad and you really want to change it in a professional setting, talk to your provider.

The Best Teeth Whitening to Buy that Works?
I know this is a BIFL sub but are you brushing your teeth before eating or drink in the morning and waiting 30 minutes to eat or drink? I would say a Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush, alcohol based mouth wash, and sensodyne tooth paste would work for you. Using crest 3D white strips work but only alongside correct dental hygiene.
