  For people with heated mattress pads, can I ask about your usage?

  I have a serta for over a year now. So seems it lasts longer than subeam. No idea on how the Sealy brand is.

  What’s a small upgrade you made that ended up being way more impactful than expected?

  2 things come to mind. I also upgraded my pillows to ones made by Serta that helped immensely with my neck pain. Got them at Ollie’s for like $20. Secondly, switched to a Merino wool winter sock from Mirmaru. A 5 pack I s $25. Been using the same 10 pairs for close to ten years without an issue. My feet sweat way less and really made things more comfortable when I’m not out in the cold.

  I went down a research rabbit hole for about a month looking for a solution for the exact same reason. My best friend is 6’+ tall. I needed something that could stay in my tiny office, as well.   Office chair for 250+ lbs used for 12+ hours a day

  I have a serta executive series chair, and my boyfriend (300lbs) has one too, he's had his two years and it hasn't started leaning or being weird or anything. They're designed for office workers sitting in an office chair for long periods of time. I've had mine 5 years now and none of the cushion has deflated even a little bit!

  Desk/office chair for big guy

  I have not bought it yet, but for a long lasting option I think my next one will be a Leap V2 Plus. Crandall has good deals on them when they're in stock.  If you wanted a cheaper option, I've had 2 of the Serta Jennings and I've gotten 5 years out of both. The newer version isn't as good as they used to be, but still worlds better than most

  BIFL guys, I feel like i'm chasing a ghost here.

  We really like [our sleeper](https://www.target.com/p/serta-hans-convertible-loveseat-woven-linen/-/A-93534054), it’s made by Serta. We put a thick [foam topper](https://www.homedepot.com/p/SUBRTEX-Medium-3-in-Queen-Gel-Memory-Foam-Mattress-Topper-with-Non-Slip-Design-Cover-SBTMT03/328887861) when we make it up as a bed, guests compliment how comfortable it is. The foam topper is bulky but fits behind the couch rolled up along with the guest room pillows.

  I have a fabric serta chair as well, not the one you linked. Had it for many years now. No signs of wear. My mine criteria was picking a chair rated for 8+ hours of sitting. So many office chairs say you shouldnt sit in them for more than an hour. insane.

  Office chairs are better than gaming chairs. So much more comfortable. If there is any kind of showroom near you, go try some out. If you find one you like, make sure that's the best deal you can get checking online then there you go. I found a serta for like $400, it's rated for like 14 hours of continuous use. Not saying it won't ever fail, but if you keep your receipt the warranty is 10 years, and it never hurts my back or anything even if I fall asleep. Honestly though if it was comfy I'd salvage your old chair, I'd see if I could match the shape with a car seat cover if you could, fix the chair with tape, put on the seat cover. It's easily washable, durable, and cheap. Otherwise you just need to learn some sewing and upholstery, which could also be fun. I really enjoy those projects though so it may not be your thing

  office chair - something with bottom padding that can last?

  I recently bought the Serta Hensley from Staples (I’m in Canada). It comes with a lengthy warranty and it’s rated for 400 pounds which is pretty substantial (I weigh 275). So far it’s been quite good and I hope to get some good years out of it. The seat cushion is built like a bed, so not just a foam pad. I suppose I will find out how it lasts.

  Recommendations for heated blanket?

  Right...?! After that long-winded tirade - I went with a Serta heated throw (referred to as a Serta Faux Rabbit Electric Heated Warming Pocket Wrap) for 2 reasons : First, Serta has overall good to great reviews online, and second : I found it on eBay for $38 from a seller with 100% positive ratings (actually, I offered her $36 and she accepted). I wasn't looking for a faux-fur style (and, if anything, I suspect faux-fur translates into constant shedding but whatever), and I don't require a pocket feature (the packaging says this pocket at the bottom is for keeping your feet warm), but as my search grew, I noticed the prices rising. Simple heated throws were sky-rocketing to over $100. Clearly, online retailers and warming blanket manufacturers are taking advantage of the general public's need for a heated throw and raising prices. I'm mad at myself for not grabbing one during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales extravaganzas last month. The other issue with this search is delivery times. One of the perks of an Amazon purchase is next-day Prime delivery. And lately, I've even had banner pop-ups noting free *same*\-day Prime delivery?! But not on a.n.y. of the heated throws I saved to my cart. All had an estimated delivery date of at least a week++. In retrospect, I should have focused on outlet mall bedding stores because they have the best deals. Plenty of big bedding and heated throw manufacturers have online outlet stores, too. The Serta heated throw from eBay will be fine (I guess). I made a duvet cover for my previous heated throw out of the same cotton sheets I use so I wouldn't have to launder the throw and I'm going to do the same for this one. It's a good idea - even if you don't sew, a simple duvet cover for a heated blanket can be made by anyone who does alterations (typically at all dry cleaners). If it absolutely positively doesn't work, I paid with PayPal, so a return won't be that difficult. My second choice was the Serta Malea Shaggy heated throw, and if all else fails, the Westinghouse heated throw with the built-in control (the control is flat and sits flush to the blanket) and has good reviews. I'll edit-in with my private market research study on heated throw results. (╹-╹)?

  Office/Computer chair?

  For under $1000, check out Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 (great for heavier guys, super comfy for long gaming sessions) or Steelcase Series 1 (solid ergonomics, durable). If you want more cushion like a La-Z-Boy, try Serta’s Big & Tall Executive chair. All have swivel and wheels. Test a few if you can!

  Recommendations for heated blanket?

  Same! Two months since your comment, and the original post is from a year ago, but I'm interested since my heated throw just died, I'm searching for a new one...it should be a simple online purchase. While it's great that we all have the luxury of reviews galore these days, I'm finding that scrolling through endless reviews (good, bad, or indifferent) complicates the search! I've been searching for the best-rated heated throw since 9 am (it's now 1:16 pm). Each review is contrary to the last. The throw is amazing/the throw is crap. The throw doesn't heat/the throw heats quickly, the throw sheds + doesn't launder well/the throw is soft + fluffy + launders beautifully... The comments on this post are helpful (searching for new/old stock is a great suggestion). The Berkshire recommendation is a good one, too (still available at Costco, but they only had white). My searches have revealed that many are disappointed with Sunbeam. While the name recognition is there, users mention how cheaply made the heated throws are, and even if it heats at first, will stop working soon after. Beautyrest, Brookstone, Serta, Westinghouse, and Black & Decker seem to have better reviews than the Amazon/Bed Bath & Beyond, Walmart-esque no-name heated throws but there are so many conflicting reviews! I don't know if some of the reviewers are extremely easy to please (and the others are all impossible to please), or if the various heated throw manufacturers have no quality control in place at all (one working heated throw off the assembly line is followed by a dud...and so on)?? I think I'm about to buy the Serta Malea Shaggy Heated Throw Blanket or the Brookstone Oversized Heated Throw Blanket or the Westinghouse Heated Throw Blanket (has the built-in, flat control), or the Sunbeam Royal Faux Fur Heated Throw (all on Amazon). Each one has simultaneous very good + very bad reviews. No grey area with any of them?! At least Amazon has a very generous return policy so if whichever one I go with doesn't perform well, it goes back. WHY is this difficult?! Since you commented two months ago, I'm curious what you ended up with?
