What are the up-and-coming companies known for quality goods?
Shady Rays for sunglasses (both prescription and and/or polarized). Another brand quoted me $700 for prescription polarized glasses and I snagged a pay of SR’s for less than $200. They have great 4th of July Sales and other holiday themed sales as well

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
Would highly recommend shady rays if you ever need a new pair. I've got 2 pair and for the price, they're fantastic. And their warranty is great too. My kids broke a pair of mine and they sent me a new pair even though it wasn't anything they did.

My shady rays have been good. The style I like have an issue where the frame breaks eventually but they send me a new pair at no cost when I submit the claim. Been through 3 replacements in 4-5 years
