What’s a small upgrade you made that ended up being way more impactful than expected?
Definitely more expensive but I got the smeg milk frother and I love it so much I use it to make my morning coffee with bone broth, collagen, butter and spices Now I’ve also been using it stirring up olive oil with herbs and balsamic as well as making broth mixes it’s been very helpful

Great post, lots of fun reading everyones’ un-fun must-haves. I agree, bidet, rice cooker, electric kettle (love my SMEG), iron skillet. Also, rubber floor mats for car.

how bad are smeg products?
I have a pink SMEG toaster (the normal short two slice) and kettle (full size, non adjustable temp). They have both been as good as any other toaster or kettle that I have used. The toaster is a bit better than the cheapest ones at your local superstores. They still look as good as the day I got them 4 years ago. I have however gotten into learning how to properly prepare my tea so I am planning on selling my kettle and buying a used temp adjustable one. Will not loose a lot of money in the swap.

Many goods or brands’ quality degrades over time, whether that’s through new MBA management, reputation mining, etc. What are some products currently available whose quality has only improved over time?
A lot of the Smeg stuff is up there with the best consumer-grade appliances that you can buy. People just tend to think of them for one specific product line.
