Tragedy of the Honest in a capitalistic economic system
Used them but never bought them. Not any better than Rubbermaid or Glad IMHO. I like Snapware and Anchor-Hocking glass containers so they're better to microwave. Also, the glass looks nice, so you can serve from them and then just put the lid on them when you're done.

I haven’t had an issue with the lids for the set that I bought about two years ago. I hand wash the lids to hopefully increase longevity. However, I did have one snap wear piece that someone left at my house and used for lids. The rubber gasket on this one was removable. Eventually one of the tabs broke off. I heard from some other redditor that the lids are under lifetime warranty. I called up the manufacture and they sent me a replacement. Since the original container was so old, they could just replace the lid as they didn’t make that size anymore and they sent me a new lid and container, I didn’t even have to pay for shipping. I love my snapware set and knowing that the kids are under warranty is even a better reason to buy.

OXO and Snapware are the two that win all of America’s Test Kitchen testing. Personally, I prefer the Pyrex simply store and the Anchor Hocking dupes that are virtually identical. The plastic lids do eventually crack and a need to be replaced, but the companies sell replacement lids so it’s easy to get more. I’ve had the same set since like 2012, and I’ve only needed to replace about half of lids once.

Snapware is cost effective and decently durable, but you *will* need to periodically replace the lids. You can buy *just* lids individually directly from [pyrex](https://pyrexhome.com/collections/snapware-locking-lids), but shipping is *outrageous*.

Not sure my criteria are as specific as yours but I keep buying snapware because their lids are great and I've had better luck with their seals and clamps than any other brand. I'm not sure what other brands I've even tried though because I've spent quite a few years just adding to what I've got from snapware because they run some solid deals throughout the year and I've also had some gifted to me.

Snapware. Lids can be used across sizes for example larger or smaller capacity but same width and depth. Plastic and glass options, lids can be used for both when same width and depth. Airtight. Survive drops well. Never leak. Snip lids on and off to seal it is better than the usual press on. Can be used to freeze things in. What is the best kitchen gadget under $100 that you own?
Managed to snag a 5.5 cup zojirushi for 80 once. Chestnut c3 coffee grinder. Cast iron skillet. Tramontina stainless steel pan. Snapware glass storage. Or whatever it’s called. Got the Costco version. You can also cook in them like Pyrex.

Looking for a waterproof storage container small enough to fit in a backpack that can hold things like USB batteries, pencils, etc. Waterproof but can also take a beating.

We have the snapware glass storage set (got ours at Costco) and it’s incredibly durable. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped these things. Even dropped one on concrete once and was sure it was toast, but didn’t even crack a little.

[Request] My lunch just exploded in my bag ruining everything inside of it. What do you use to carry food to and from work?
I have a fabric bag. It looks like the disposable paper bags but is reusable. Some synthetic material. I bought it at an Earth Day festival in 1976 or 1977. The printed Earth on it is a little worn but otherwise in good shape. I've carried it on its own and in tote bags and back packs. Inside, sandwiches in plastic sandwich bags, yogurt in factory containers, soda cans, leftovers in a wide range of containers. Often a ceramic plate, flatware, and a napkin in the bag also. My favorite containers are Lock-n-Lock but I've used Tupperware, Rubbermaid, Snapware, and reused takeout containers for soup, etc. Never a problem. I usually run it through the clothes washer every ten years or so whether it needs it or not. If your lunch "exploded" in your bag I have to ask what you did to cause that to happen.

Exactly this. I learned it the first time around with the Rubbermaid Brilliance lids. Hand wash all the lids 95% of the time. I sometimes have a lazy day and just throw it in. But rarely. That said, if it still a thing, the Snapware brand lids (with Pyrex containers) have a lifetime replacement warranty on their lids or something like that. I just had to contact them and send them a picture.

I think Corelle has some like this, under their pyrex and snapware brands. The snapware ones have a bit of a lip, are glass, and are stackable. If you’re fine with plastic lids like these, it’s real easy to get the readily available glass snapware/pyrex containers.
