Best Quality of life gift ideas under $150
I think a good headlamp is more useful for walking the dog, house repairs, etc. I'd suggest Sofirm hs21

10 hours of “research” just to buy one product… this is the real problem in e-commerce.
Just buy a Sofirn or a Wurkkos flashlight. Inexpensive, recommend non-stop for the past few years and good enough to fulfill needs of 80% of people that though of getting a flashlight better than the one on their phone.

I left my Petzl Tactikka Core Headlamp charging overnight and it’s still red. Do they really only last 2 years?
Immune? No, it’s the nature of the technology. Get yourself a Zebra or Sofirn light and replace the (inexpensive) rechargeable battery when it is at the end of life. Plus, you can carry a spare battery if you are out on a longer trip

I would suggest looking at Hank Lights or Convoy. Look for something with Anduril and a magnetic base. Don't get lost in the bulbs and drivers. You aren't looking for anything that will matter there. But you might want something with better color rendering. Hit me up if you want a recommendation. I'm not as knowledgeable as the rest of there but I have spent the time learning the terms so I shouldn't be able to help you sort through the data overload you are about to slam into with flashlights. Most of those people are looking for stuff that can light up a specific seat on the other side of the top row of a major stadium at a very specific color range (different shades of white). I'm talking about stuff that is as bright as the noon day sun at a thousand feet. You want something that won't blind you in tight quarters with white or stainless steel background while still being able to get brighter when needed. My personal EDC is the Sofirn SP35T. Don't get that confused with just the SP35 or similar. But there are cheaper options with other brands and mine is not better in any way.
