Otter box just didn’t work
The last OtterBox I had basically disintegrated on me under normal use. They also kinda suck with popsockets because of the flexible rubber exterior. I've had better luck with Spigen, but right now I'm trying out a case from a brand called "ENCASED" and it's held up pretty well for the year I've had it.

Are expensive phone cases actually worth it? Or is a cheap one just as good?
There’s definitely a middle ground. The $5 gas station cases are usually trash—they yellow in weeks and offer zero drop protection. However, you don't always need to drop $60 on a 'luxury' brand. Brands like Spigen and Torras are popular because they hit that sweet spot of using high-quality TPU/Polycarbonate and better magnets (MagSafe) without the insane markup. You’re paying for better precision in the cutouts, buttons that actually feel clicky, and materials that don't stretch out over time. If it saves you a $300 screen repair, that $30-40 investment is technically 'Buy It For Life' for the duration of that phone.

Anybody using the Unicorn Beetle Grip? Is it good for drop and dust protection? Long lasting?
Just get a spigen one, should last as long as the phone.

Any affordable and durable AirTag wallets you’d recommend? Not really into paying Apple prices.
Using the Spigen AirTag wallet for a year, holds up great and it's around $25. Also check Ekster parliament on sale - sometimes hits $30-35. btw the ping sound is a lifesaver for lost wallets lmao

Is Otterbox still the default phone case?
Trying to get my "free" holster for my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL from otterbox is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure this is the last time I'll be going with [r/OtterBox](https://www.reddit.com/r/OtterBox/) for my case selection. Every single year it seems the price stays the same or gets bigger when the product quality becomes less and less. Back in the day I remember otterbox being the standard of protection with a built in screen protector, a exoskeleton for the phone and then it's rubber cover accompanied with a holster for the case. My device always felt really safe. Then they removed the screen protector and sold for the same price having to charge me an additional $50-$100 for a screen protector from them. Then the next purchase they also did away with exoskeleton and made it one with the external rubber protection. This makes the experience of putting it on the phone more of a PITA. And now I see no holster and just a redemption code to get your "free" holster mailed to you but the site they provide on your code in the box only has it available for Apple and Samsung. You have to go to a totally different link found online in order to have Google even be an option. Then when you try and check out with it, otterbox tells you it will give you a little off shipping and you have to pay for the holster. So what I remember being a nice package full of components that I bought in the past, I now get about maybe 20% of the materials in my package compared to the first one I bought from otterbox. And now I have some commuter looking knockoff that has a clear back and feels like much less protection from my phone. Drops happen so much more now that I don't have the rubber all around the back like in previous versions. The only thing otterbox has managed to constantly do over the years is lose interest from me. I was so very close (and I mean a coin toss) of choosing one of these over the otterbox case... \- [**Spigen Tough Armor**](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=c314a2e9b66c7192&sxsrf=AE3TifNHeeKQibLI39KPSv_4UtCFLNg-zw%3A1762180091917&q=Spigen+Tough+Armor&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjowKKzmNaQAxXUmWoFHUGGAc0QxccNegUI3AEQAQ&mstk=AUtExfBM73-Sc3LAlHvTg3hv-jxpxCjUx2tsQea7PBOtp3-DN-K3wYS7iv4JAscF6nOc8YCjepn8Mk5fBv0jQFLNEizI8bOOJzBdiTnzYI8E_prxwZJdaikGWJKoIfVD8KhqNPD0ngTNPZHc6pkCQT8vc6MVClT0dazHSmyTKr-5JWhUO0c&csui=3) **-** [**Spigen Liquid Air**](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=c314a2e9b66c7192&sxsrf=AE3TifNHeeKQibLI39KPSv_4UtCFLNg-zw%3A1762180091917&q=Spigen+Liquid+Air&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjowKKzmNaQAxXUmWoFHUGGAc0QxccNegUImQIQAQ&mstk=AUtExfBM73-Sc3LAlHvTg3hv-jxpxCjUx2tsQea7PBOtp3-DN-K3wYS7iv4JAscF6nOc8YCjepn8Mk5fBv0jQFLNEizI8bOOJzBdiTnzYI8E_prxwZJdaikGWJKoIfVD8KhqNPD0ngTNPZHc6pkCQT8vc6MVClT0dazHSmyTKr-5JWhUO0c&csui=3) **-** [**Rink Onyx**](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=c314a2e9b66c7192&sxsrf=AE3TifNHeeKQibLI39KPSv_4UtCFLNg-zw%3A1762180091917&q=Rink+Onyx&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjowKKzmNaQAxXUmWoFHUGGAc0QxccNegUImwIQAQ&mstk=AUtExfBM73-Sc3LAlHvTg3hv-jxpxCjUx2tsQea7PBOtp3-DN-K3wYS7iv4JAscF6nOc8YCjepn8Mk5fBv0jQFLNEizI8bOOJzBdiTnzYI8E_prxwZJdaikGWJKoIfVD8KhqNPD0ngTNPZHc6pkCQT8vc6MVClT0dazHSmyTKr-5JWhUO0c&csui=3) And now that I'm writing this, I might just do as much and send back this case because it's still in the 30 day window. To go even further I can't even post this to the [r/OtterBox](https://www.reddit.com/r/OtterBox/) subreddit because to have to be a member first. Way to connect with your customers otterbox.

What Phone Case Should I Buy
I liked my ESR but if you pay a bit more you can get Torras which is way superior imo ESR can turn yellow after a year or so where as the Torras lasts much longer and I never saw yellow even after years. It’s like spigen vs speck speck being the better of the two.

What Phone Case Should I Buy
Didn't have an iPhone but as far as cases go, speck(?) spigen and uag have served me well. I currently have some random brand I found online called esr I think and it's great bc it's got a kickstand that's strong enough to hold up my phone horizontally AND vertically.

Are expensive phone cases actually worth it? Or is a cheap one just as good?
I use Spigen from Amazon, all the time. Some Amazon cases are not worth it, but I buy Spigen every time I get a new phone. To be fair, I don’t think it’s as great as Otterbox; it also not a $10 case. I drop my phone more than most people, but it’s never been run over by a car.

Im sooo tired of buying USB C cords that lasts a few months at best, recommendations
What cables are you buying? I'm still using my Spigen & Anker USB-C cables from over 5 years ago. Regular $12-$15 cables. Make sure they're braided & not just basic silicone. And make sure the head is reinforced. And use more then 1 of course.

Which one is better? Used to use Otterbox Defenders.
I agree with others that Spigen is good, but anecdotally I had a phone in a Unicorn Beatle case survive being thrown from a roller coaster

Which one is better? Used to use Otterbox Defenders.
Seconded I had an otter case, and after lots of drops (I'm clumsy) and removing and putting back the case to clean the cell, a crack appeared I changed for a Spigen, which is slimer and has a little foot to watch video Still intact after 5 years (beside scratch) And I had a spigen for my previous phone, and it never broke (nor the phone) Otter is not bad but is really expensive I think it's good I you drop it from really high though

Which one is better? Used to use Otterbox Defenders.
This. I've had exclusively Spigen cases for at least my last, like, 5 or 6 phones. Reasonable prices, plenty of options with varying levels of protection, and although I'm very careful with my phones, they've saved me a ton of money and headaches over the years preventing any damage on the odd occasion that I've dropped one or it's slipped out my pocket.

Set for the hard days of construction working!
I switched to Mous, Spigen or Peak Design for personal use and have been very happy. I also like that some of them provide options for magsafe on Android platforms as I'm very happy having access to that ecosystem.

What is the most sturdy and long-lasting iPhone 14 case that can also protect my phone from a toddler?
Best case I’ve had so far is this Spigen case with the sliding camera protector. And I have straight up hurled my phone in anger at concrete, asphalt, grass, garage door, tire, dirt, and many more and many more and many more. After 3+ years finally a piece of it has cracked. And it’s the outside wall that keeps the slider attached and it still works. I just want a new one. Spigen.

Spigen and an otterbox commuter are about on par for me, i put one or the other on every phone I have had. Depends who is in stock/significantly cheaper at the time

How durable and protective is the Spigen Tough Armor case?
I've had it on one phone and one ipad. I don't drop them a lot, but have a few times. They're good. My dad uses a tough armor pro on his galaxy tab and has dropped it countless times, and a tough armor on his phone and also dropped countless times. He drops one almost daily when he falls asleep. No damage.

How durable and protective is the Spigen Tough Armor case?
I was using an otter box, which took drops and abuse really well but the plastic trim would break because I'd grab it to pull the shine from my pocket. The Spigen I use now doesn't have any issues and is just as tough. All in all better than otterbox too.

How durable and protective is the Spigen Tough Armor case?
Spigen for me everytime. I work in a kitchen. Not quite the same level of abuse, but my phone gets its fair share of bumps and jostling. Price-wise it's no comparison. You could buy 3 Spigens for the price of one Otterbox. I use Spigen for my Smartwatch too.

Ive been using for a decade on multiple phones. Never had a breakage. They may visually wear out over the years but my phones were obsolete before the case every time.

Who swears by an Otterbox Defender despite the negative feedback it often receives?
I used an Otterbox defender about 7 years ago, the silicone outer layer gets stretched out after about a year so I've steered clear of Otterbox cases since then. I now use a Spigen case but I know if I drop my phone it will likely not survive from great heights.

I’ve used a Spigen Tough Armor case on ever single phone I’ve had since the HTC One M8. As long as they keep making this line of cases I won’t switch.

The case works well for drops but I have gone through 3 because the plastic frame breaks at the corner of the screen. I've since switched to spigen because it doesn't have the plastic inner case.

What is the phone case you have used the longest?
Generally that's what I do, but recently I got a Z Fold, and didn't care for Spigen's cases for that phone. Sharp edges where my palm rests. Changed to a dbrand grip case this time around. I've never had a Spigen case not last at least as long as my use of the phone for which it protects.

Suggestions on Phone wallets?
I got one to stop carrying around a purse and I usually try to do ApplePay whenever possible. The “challenge” is wanting to have ID in addition to other cards since the cases I liked were slim or not too thick that way I could keep in pockets easily. I had a Native Union one similar to [this](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Native-Union-Clic-Card-Case-Crafted-Genuine-Italian-Nappa-Leather-Slim-Lightweight-Cover-Holder-Compatible-iPhone-11-Pro-Max-Indigo/339188768?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101002253) for a while which is nice looking but sliding cards in/out with the leather could be tough. It definitely held up but the corners will show wear eventually. I then switched to a Spigen Slim Armor that was easier in terms of getting the cards out. For me this was a great option for going to concerts, bars, or just anything where you don’t want to want to have too much but I wanted one thin enough to not interfere with wireless charging or using pay features. I changed phones a bit ago and looked at this Pelican one on Costco but kinda ugly and again would prefer something slim or at least have a newer feature like RFID protection.

A good see through/clear phone case for iphone 14?
Spigen do very hard-wearing cases! I’ve had a spigen case for my current and last phone and they’ve both stayed intact despite dropping them/ accidentally chucking them across the room multiple times. Also have a screen protector, which helps too.

Apple/lightning phone chargers?
Yeah I've heard that something like this would help. Usually I go with braided but I've found some utility for PVCs depending on the situation. I usually stick with Anker or Monoprice cables but have recently begun trying Amazon basics, Spigen and Belkin cables to test out their durability. The amazon basics cables are so cheap and have decent durability overall while I am very impressed with the Spigen and Belkin cables.
