Sterilite containers. Ours are going on 9 years old, and my mom's are going on 15. We have the green lids size. All the green lids fit all the green containers. Only "Tupperware" pieces we have. Takes up 1 shelf for us in the cabinet.

An ugly, cheap black Sterilite dish strainer that I got when I first moved out of my mom's house 20 years ago. It's bounced around with me and is still the dish strainer we use now. I'll probably give it to my son when he moves out and finally get one that looks nicer lol

I have a Sterilite square laundry tote from- I think 2003? It's missing the gray part of one of the handles but otherwise is in very solid shape. The Sterilites seem to still be very solid and the same as when I bought mine.

I have a couple of sterilite white plastic baskets, the ones with the wheels and handles because I have to take them to the laundromat. I got them at the dollar store for $15 each and have I’ve had them for 4+ years. I pack them FULL when I do laundry and have not been gentle with them. Like. Fill it up, shove the laundry down and put more on top full, and then drag them through the parking lot. Somehow they’re still going strong.

I finally, this year, had to admit the two laundry baskets I'd been using since 2005 were finally too broken to keep using. They're the basic square white plastic Sterilite baskets everyone has. I bought them at Target. They're not available in-store anymore so I ordered a case of 12 of them from Sterilite because while it may not technically be BIFL, I think 20 years and 12 moves is an excellent lifespan for a humble little plastic basket.

Our laundry baskets broke after quite a bit of abuse and over a decade of use (actually, 1 of 3 is like 18 years old and going strong). I couldn't find the same ones again so I bought some store brand ones I think from Target and they died so fast. I bought the sterilite laundry baskets and they are holding up pretty well. If you end up carrying hampers up and downstairs though, I would recommend making or buying liners... I made bags for all of my hampers after my last one broke when I was carrying it down the stairs, a sterilite that had lived about 15 years (wheeled from when we had laundry on the same floor). The bags I made will definitely lessen the wear and tear on the hamper as I just remove the bag to transport dirty laundry.

Food Storage Containers?
Since space is tight and you want something that’ll actually last, you might wanna [check out Sterilite’s](https://dbestlists.com/dp-B077VZZJ5K) stackable storage. It’s not glass, but that just means the containers are super impact resistant, easy to organize, and lock in place well so you don’t have to worry about accidental falls! Also the clear base makes it easy to see what’s inside without having to shuffle everything around. Plus they’ve been in this business for yearsss so they aren’t going away anytime soon either. If you’re dead set on glass tho, Pyrex is still out there - their lids just aren’t exactly known for longevity. Maybe try the hybrid approach, something like Pyrex for fridge storage and Sterilite for pantry stuff…? That way, you’d get the best of both worlds.

Ditto the clear Sterilite. They have helped immensely at our house. My stuff can be orderly and shelved, but I can still “see” it. Also, they make it much easier to dust. Clear plastic typically isn’t as durable as the black, rubbery plastic. But I’ve found the Sterilite ClearView Latch bins to be really durable unless you use them in the freezer. I thought it would be a good idea to use them to organize my freezer at -3*F. That worked great until I dropped one and it shattered. But short of that usage, they have held up really well.
