What’s your BIFL that a dog chewed on and you still use it?
Stetson hat. Muddy puppy found it on my chair and helped himself. It looked wrecked, but my hat guy fixed and cleaned it up. Still looks like it lost a fight or two, but it's a 20 year old Stetson, it's just getting good.

A weird niche one. But Stetson hats. I've owned my Stetsons for 15+ years. I own my dead grandfather's now. His Stetsons are 40-50 years old. He wore them all the time for those decades. They're made of beaver and are very well made. They are pretty expensive though. My personal beaver Stetson was like $180. They also make collapsible Stetsons. They used to be more affordable. Like my original ones were around $50. I saw my exact crushable hat for sale at the same place I bought it 14 years ago and it's now like $90. But they last forever and I have beaten the shit out of them. One with a chin strap was strapped to my head in the middle of the strongest cat 4 hurricane ever recorded. Also they're flexible and can be packed if you're travelling and completely water resistant. Also they're all made in the USA. I'm a big fan of hats. Also you can say new era hats. I own close to 50 of them and my oldest ones are still in good shape. I have an original 1990's Oakland raider new era hat that looks brand new. Just wash them in cold water when they get gross. Their on field hats used to be made in the USA but I bought a new Reds hat to replace my old one because it stopped fitting my giant head. And the new one is made in an Asian country I don't remember. My original one I bought in 2010 was made in the USA. Same hat but they moved production like assholes. And raised the price by $10-$20. I collect hats.

Move out to the rural west. Jeans, boots, collared shirts: you'll have several varieties of all of those, from fence post driving days to date night / wedding mode. Winter hat, summer hat, working hat! Western clothes aren't for everybody if you want timeless people have been dressing like this since the mid 1800s. The Stetson hat (by John Stetson) was made in 1860. Not a lot of fashion styles making it \~200 years and, at least to some people, still looking sharp!
