Look into workwear. I‘ve been using my Strauss e.s.motion 2020 superflex for many years (also the matching pants), got a second set last year, just to have one at home, one at work. It’s comfortable for what it is and even an armageddon kind of rainstorm has never been a problem. I just wear them over whatever normal clothes I have that day, sometimes even over bulky motorcycle gear, as they stretch a little.

You can get Falke, but price durability doesnt scale well for socks, so double the price won't mean double the years. So, not an expert, but in the end, getting relatively cheap socks (read: not the cheapest, i.e. Primark or something) is okay. I personally buy Schiesser for everyday socks, but try to use the right sock for the job - sports socks with more synthetics, wool socks in winter, durable but less comfy socks from Strauss for gardening etc.
