A few brands I'll probably stick with for life
I got a pair from Studio D'Artisan that I suspect will still look brand new after Im dust.

Why Levi's jeans quality is very poor?
After buying my Studio D’Artisan 18oz Godzilla jeans at their store in Osaka, I went to Levi’s flagship store in San Francisco to check out their Japanese made selvedge vintage 501s. They cost more than my SDAs did in Japan ($300+ vs $270) and while they were nice, they weren’t •as• nice, and really leads me to believe that the best made stuff in Japan •stays• in Japan, that is, doesn’t get exported.

Men’s Jeans Recommendations
The problem I have is that I’m 6’3 and built like a brick. The Japanese pelvis simply has a smaller inseam than my beef-steroid bloated bones. I’ve either got to buy pairs where I can try them on in NYC or Cali, or I have to buy blind and hope. Best luck I ever had was with a pair of studio dartisan hickory kakishibu persimmon dyed jeans I had to buy from a specialty shop in the Czech Republic. Bought a 40 and I wear a 36-38 and actually was able to wear them comfortably

Flannel shirts that last
Most of the Japanese denim companies make excellent flannels. Studio D’artisan, Real McCoy, Pure Blue Japan. None of them are cheap, but all of them are good. Iron Heart’s heavyweights are far and away the most durable and impressive shirts around though.

Does anybody have experience with Iron Heart clothing?
Wish they offered more roomier options. You would think their size XXXXL would be way too big but its just barely a size 50 in the chest. so if you're big & tall like myself, and have a small belly, it will be snug. I can usually wear my ultra heavy flannel closed when I haven't eaten a while, but after a big meal, I usually wear it open. For jeans, I was able to nail the sizing on my 21oz 1955S-OD Tag size 40 and 21oz 634S by contacting IH after I submitted my order and asked to find a pair that were closest to my measurements and they happily obliged by sourcing a pair that were 41 in the waist... I have massive calf and thighs so I am limited to only straight cuts. Ironhearts and 25oz Samurais are my absolute favorite fitting pair denim, followed by Studio D'artisan and RRL.
