Best plain white tee?
Sunspel. A bit expensive but I’ve never regretted it and never desired to find another brand after searching for the perfect T over the years. Can find them on sale from time to time. I have maybe 20 in rotation for several years and replace maybe 2 per year.

What are the most durable shirts?
Go for heavier cotton & reinforced seams. Avoid fast fashion. Brands like Sunspel, Uniqlo U, Carhartt actually last.

Best plain white tee?
I like Sunspel tees Made from extra-long staple Supima cotton. This makes them pretty soft, strong and durable. Proper BIFL. Also pretty resistant to creasing compared to typical cotton tees. Though pricey at £95

Men’s underwear that actually lasts does it exist?
While no clothing is BIFL - all fabric wears out - Sunspel is a high quality manufacturer.

Which polo brands actually hold up for years of work wear?
Love my Sunspel Riviera - my black one I feel like faded so quick but my green one is holding up like a champ

Plain but quality mens clothing that isn't too showy
Totally feel this :) I’ve been shifting toward pieces where the quality speaks through fit and fabric, not logos. For basics like tees and shirts, I’ve found that focusing on material and cut matters way more than the label. Sunspel and Lady White Co. make great plain tees, and Uniqlo U is surprisingly solid for the price. That said, the biggest game-changer for me was going made-to-measure for some core pieces, no branding at all, just clean lines and tailored fit. I work with a shop in NYC (Michael Andrews Bespoke), and everything feels elevated without saying a word. Once you find your silhouette, you realize how little you need the name on the tag.

BIFL Summer underwear that doesnt cling to your sack
Sunspel superfine cotton boxer briefs are incredibly comfy for me. So far they have lasted two years and still seem perfect. They are not cheap but it’s the comfiest underwear I’ve ever worn.

A note about clothing quality
I worked with a new tshirt company who wanted to “revolutionize” the industry. They spent a lot of time on design, fit and materials. The thing is, when you’re starting out, you basically have to use the same stuff everyone else uses. The same factories, the same mills…etc. So usually what happens is your product isn’t as revolutionary as you want and it’s 3 times the price. There is a reason cotton is so popular. It’s really really good. Especially good cotton. If you want to splurge on a new textile, get a Sea Island cotton shirt from Sunspel. Now THAT is glorious.

Best high quality performance tee?
My favorite t shirt is a Sunspel that was on sale for $45. I keep hoping I can find them that cheap again. It’s a great shirt.

Yes it is true- quality clothes are harder to find.
See here: 100 HANDS, Isaia , Kiton , rubato, drakes , buzz Rickman, brycelands, Anglo-Italian, iron heart, (probably any Japanese brand and definitely most Japanese denim brands), the real McCoys, cordings, buck mason, sunspel, Gaziano and Girling, Edward green, Crockett and jones, Ralph Lauren purple label, Brioni, Loro piana , Wyth, Rota, E G Capelli, RING JACKET, idk I could go on all day

Some good articles for Europeans?
Although the sub is very US centric, most BIFL brands in general are European, with some notable exceptions like Patagonia (which you can find in Europe). Kitchen: Demeyere, Le Creuset and Staub. I don't think there's better for cooking than these 3. Rösle kitchen tools. Italian coffee mills and machines from several high end brands. Peugeot pepper mills. Even popular Silestone counter tops are Spanish. Appliances: Miele, Siemens, Bosch... Clothing: (There's a thousand brands, but to name a few BIFL ones) Sunspel, Zegna, Logo Piana, Brunello Cucinelli, Brioni, Falke (although Socks are not really BIFL, they are for sure better than the over hyped Darn Tough around here). Luxury items: Any serious watch brands or luxury hand bags are European, just name a brand. Depending on your budget, you have a lot to choose from. And then depending on other niche stuff that you might be looking for, there's probably some local producer from Italy, Spain or Portugal that will have it in word class quality.
