  Yesss, insoles help a lot, esp for flat feet. If the shoes you get don’t have enough arch support, try adding Superfeet or dr. scholl’s work insoles, they make a big difference. Getting feet measured at a running or shoe store is super useful too. they check width, arch type, and gait and usually let you try on a few options to see what feels best. For standing all day, look for those orthopedic-style work shoes, they’re made for long shifts and wide feet fit well in them. They might look a bit chunky, but after 8 hours on your feet, comfort > looks for sure.

  shoe recommendations ‼️‼️

  You need to get a footbed insert, look at Superfeet, to replace the standard insole in any shoe you buy. Try and size them by your heel size - there should be guides online. I think hiking/trail shoes are a good option as they typically have higher density foam and are more durable than typical lightweight running shoes etc. New Balance have a good selection of wide options, or look into brands like Meindl, Scarpa, La Sportiva for really high quality.

  Shoes for standing/walking?

  Hokas are the move, I think. I worked in a grocery store during Covid, and have flat feet. 1. Find out your pronation. (basically, the way your foot contacts the ground when moving). Most people have neutral, but if you have flat feet, it's usually over-pronation. If you overpronate, get the Hoka Arahi. The number/generation doesn't really matter. Just get the color you like. Older models are usually on sale. If you have neutral, you want the Cliftons, like someone else here mentioned. If you are quite tall, or heavier, get the Bondi (more cushion in the soles. These are the only 3 models, in my opinion, and are by far the most popular. side note: If your heels are still bothering you, you might want stiffer insoles. I know it sounds **counterintuitive**, but the rigidness holds your feet so you don't stand on your heels. The green "Superfeet" brand worked the best for me, and they are pricey, but built like a tank. GL

  Foot massagers that are actually worth it?

  My foot pain is usually from poor arch support in shoes and from tight hamstrings/calves. Superfeet inserts and Ecco shoes help a ton. I use a tennis ball to stretch and massage my arches. Also Voltaren topical NSAID gel and magnesium glycinate supplement help a lot. I’d consider getting PT to find out if you have muscle group imbalances that are contributing to the pain. I use a free digital PT program that I get thru my work health insurance. It’s the first time I’m actually sticking to doing the PT exercises cuz it’s set up almost like Duolingo with a 9-10 min playlist of easy exercises/stretches and you can do telehealth visits or message with your PT to ask questions and stuff. The exercises felt ludicrously easy at first, but I woke up with the most random sore muscles cuz it got at the little guys we miss when working out. Been so helpful for managing and preventing pain. It’s called Hinge (not the dating app but same name hah)

  most generic insoles are just squishy foam, so they feel nice for a week and then flatten out. the difference with something like superfeet is the structured heel cup and arch support it actually redistributes weight instead of just cushioning it. some people with really high arches move up to the green model, and others who want something slimmer go for the carbon, but [the blues](https://DealzSphere.github.io/Orbit/?to=recommendation_for_shoe_insole) tend to be the safe pick when you’re on your feet a lot. they last way longer than the liners most shoes come with cuz of the medium arch

  Need comfortable shoes to help with foot pain.

  I had a podiatrist point me towards superfeet insoles and I don't wear anything without them anymore. They come in different fits depending on your arch height, so you can find one that fits like a custom imagine, which would be hundreds of dollars from the podiatrist. Dr schols are terrible, honestly you should return them. Also, find a shoe that gives you enough room in the toe box that your toes can splay out like they naturally would. Nothing should be compressing your foot, and you might find that you need to size up. Describe the pain to your podiatrist. They should do X-rays to look for a fracture or bone spurs. You may be able to get some sort of note for work that would let you use a stool or something. Good luck, for pain is seriously the worst.

  Need comfortable shoes to help with foot pain.

  We have a shoe store called Beck's that has the scanner and several kinds of shoes and inserts. I have plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. My heels and my Achilles are screaming after being on my feet. They fixed me up with a pair of Hokas and a superfeet insert. Also a pair of Aertex flip flops to wear around the house. I am doing so much better. Make sure you go to someone who is knowlegable. Hokas do different things and Superfeet is a really good insert. My biggest problem is pronation and these things all help. I have been to several podiatrists and they honestly don't do as good a job.

  Custom insoles worth the price if you want them to last?

  Well, usually high quality OTC insoles like superfeet or powerstep ($56) might just work great for you, so try them first. But if it is not the case due to their soft arch support, then go for some custom insoles with stronger arch support (if your knees, back, hips hurt, it probably means you need personalized arch support for correcting posture). Apparently, for the custom insoles from doctors, $200 would be too much for me, so I would recommend ease in from some AFFORDABLE online custom insoles solutions with stronger supporting, around $70?: sprinsole, fitmyfoot, sooley, etc. which allow you to scan your feet via phones for customization. I have tried several of them, working great for my long-standing warehouse job so far.

  Not all insoles are gel-coated cushy garbage. I rock Superfeet carbon insoles in my hiking shoes and love the added stiffness plus arch support.

  What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?

  Superfeet are awesome and places like REI carry a variety of their arch support…you just put them on your shoeless soles and see which one has your arch profile. Then take out your old insoles and trace the pattern with a sharpie to trim for a perfect fit in your shoes. I have done this to all of my “daily drivers” and made my ski boots fabulous!

  Best wide shoes for heavy folks (8+ hours standing)

  These aren't all cushiony but good for wide feet and proper toe spread! Topos or Altra (Altra is better looking but their foam wears out fast and they're zero drop so you may prefer Topro which has some puffy soled models), Superfeet inserts (go some place and be fitted), Lems primals, Redback boots with superfeet (way better than Blunnies now) or Birkenstocks (not cushiony but they do have some softsole models). You might find with a better fitting shoe you don't need as much cushion. Hope you find something good!

  Heels are bad for your body. I wear ballet flats or nice boots if I need to dress up. Boots are ideal as I can add arch supports (like Superfeet).

  Sneakers or boots for daily wear.

  I work in a warehouse and I've worn Thorogood moc boots and Jim Green AR8's. They both hold up well, but the latter are much more comfortable due to the wider toe box. I recommend getting some aftermarket insoles like Superfeet Green and some good thick socks (I use Darn Tough Socks). Boots take awhile to break in and you will get blisters - buy some Leukotape P to help with that.

  Ladies, what are the MOST comfortable boots you’ve worn for walking 10k+ steps a day?

  I immediately pull out the insole and replace with Superfeet. Not just on my Blundstones, but on nearly every shoe I own. Instant arch support. The insoles last longer than the shoes do for me, so I just move them from one pair into the next (particularly with running shoes, which by their nature aren't BIFL)

  I have a pair of Columbia hiking boots with superfeet insoles. The insoles cost more than the boots. The BIFL here may be the insoles (not really for life, but worth the money).

  I have been one pair of Superfeet insoles, bought just last year. I know that I need to get my shoes replaced because the support in the SHOES is worn down so much that the insole is now OVERsupporting the parts that needed additional support originally!

  I have been using super feet in most of my shoes for the last 15 years. The fabric liner wears away a little but the rest of the insole is fine. I think if you were worried about the liner holes, using contact cement and a really thin pigskin/chamois leather would go on top really nicely.

  Black non slip work shoes for walking all day

  Avoid Shoes for Crews and Crocs if you’re on your feet for long periods. I recommend New Balance 626v2 and a pair of Powerstep Pinnacle Maxx inserts. Or Superfeet Copper DMP. If you want BIFL, save up and get a pair of custom orthotics made. A good pair will last >10 years.

  Going to Europe, suggestions for comfortable, not-ugly walking shoes that will last?

  Also our last trip was UK in September. We had wet, cold and cool days. My shoes were perfect and didn't soak through at all. My feet were super comfy, although I do wear Superfeet insoles in the Seibels. We walked MILES, including one 10 mile day in Edinburgh.

  I wore black Allbirds on my 4 week Europe trip. I had to buy some Superfeet inserts the second week because I needed more arch support, but those were readily available in Amsterdam and solved the issue.
