  I just made a watch from AliExpress. I got a Seiko movement an nh35 and made sure to buy a case, dial and hands that fit the movement. If you're after a fun little project, it's nice to build over an hour or so. I spent £80 building a mechanical watch that would have cost me £800 from Hamilton (lovely bronze case) Either that or buy Swatch. Buy a few, swap as necessary. I have friends who've kept theirs for 30+ years.

  Without a budget nobody can help you. I recently went watch shopping for the first time ever and it was interesting. Timex and citizen stood out as “lower cost” watches that actually look really really good. I use quotation marks as they are cheap in the watch world, but being 5x’s more expensive than a basic Casio is crazy money. Depends what angle you are coming from. Check out swatch if you like crazy colours, maybe grabs a couple depending on your budget. Seiko is king though, the internals are used in a large amount of other brands too, can’t go wrong with quartz in terms of BIFL. Quartz watches are generally

  Confirmo. Tengo un Swatch desde hace 20 años y funciona espectacular, solo le he cambiado las correas y pila, del resto la maquina esta intacta, es increíble lo resistente. Y eso que lo he metido a la piscina, la montaña, cualquier ambiente, calor, humedad, frío intenso y sigue dando la hora.

  While sounding cynical, there are truths to it. OP is young, it is in their nature to explore and by that; consume. It is highly unrealistic for him to suggest he is going to buy his watch, bag, etc and live with it till his dying days. And to him to be seeking out the best of the best now is materialistic in another way. The OP shouldn't be afraid to spend provided he maintain his budget and remain financially responsible. Heck ecev if it means buying cheap stuff. Sometimes you might learn that you can get by with that swatch and dont need an omega. The other thing is understanding the upkeep to maintain the bifl'ness of your item. In regards to OP. The only thing he should really look towards a tailored suit and a decent pair of shoes.
