  Ive bought. Their sizing and fit is terrible. The idiot they employed to say "size 1/2 down from your brannock" that completely contradicts the chart right below is incredibly unhelpful. The lining and materials are the sort of shoe that will never mold well, but will be sure to give you 3 blisters an hour into your dinner night out. For the price, the few bits of leather could actually be not-complete-shit. The leather sole bulges out in between the heel stack and the rubber supports. Not looking for the most amazing veg tanned leather but the plastic corrected grain is maybe a slight step above faux. A properly welted boot not completely disintegrating in some dirt isn't worthy of a pat on the back or cookie. It's standard. A complement on the style was the only bonus.

  Old thread but figure it's worth putting my two cents in: I own 4 pairs of boots (Rome in Oro Viejo, Dylan Jodhpur in Salt, Model 004 Daily in Beige, and Troy in Black) and 2 pairs of shoes (Beck in Burnt Honey and Rapido High Top White Crane) from Taft, all bought within the last couple months. I really like them all, but there are some overarching flaws and some individual flaws for some pairs. I'll start with my favorite so far (and go down favorite to least), the Rome in Oro Viejo. It's a standout piece with a wonderful color that adds flare to any brown/beige outfit I put on that calls for a little extra. The bottom is fully rubber so it doesn't degrade as quickly as the leather/wood combo that can get extremely scuffed, especially where I'm from in the upper Midwest so I greatly appreciate it. The leather unfortunately started to crack from being too dry, but I chalk it up to user error and not understanding leather as it was my first foray into this type of material. I got the shoe care kit and the leather cream it comes with helped a lot with any squeaking/further cracking. Second is the Model 004, out of stock as of writing but very very comfortable. The rubber sole, again, makes it easy to not worry about Midwestern winter weather, the lace style is a bit different and the colors go very well with a relaxed outfit. They're not the top right now as the loop holding the laces on the left shoe tongue started to come unstitched when I first put them on. Small and can be easily fixed but calls into question quality control. They were also very very dry when I got them as I found out when applying cream, as these bad boys soaked it right up but left it with a much richer color and texture, smooth finish, and kept some of the toe burnishing intact. Helped remove some wrinkles from wear as well. Overall very solid boot for everyday wear. Third is close between the Beck in Honey and Jodhpur (I will have it autocorrected every time) in Salt, but I feel the Beck takes it by a small margin. Virtually no flaws in craft, has a wonderful color and style and fits nearly perfectly. Granted I'm an American in a European shoe with a slimmer design, but it doesn't cramp anywhere and hugs my feet well. I hesitate to wear them too much right now given the winter weather and salt on the road but a very beautiful shoe. (Should note that when I first received them I got a Euro 36, equivalent to American 8 mens. I immediately reordered using their order now return later system and it worked fantastically, got the right size within a week. This is the only mix up I've had.) Fourth but only by a small margin is the Jodhpur in Salt. A very, very beautiful boot with a fantastic belt lace, incredible texture, and no craft imperfections. It's only this far down because a. Its only fitting with one outfit I have but completes it in a way nothing else could, and b. Very slim for my fat American dogs. Squeezes my pinky toe, however it doesn't leave it feeling sore even after an 8+ hour day of wear. Should've ordered half a size up, but still a constant in my wardrobe. Fifth is the Rapido High Top. Not that it's a bad shoe, but that it has the most imperfections. The left shoe still has a blue mark on the tongue, probably from leather processing, the soles and sides are slightly dirty on opening and the tongue has a tendency to shift left and hide the Taft name in gold print, which speaks again to a lack of quality control - or I'm a moron and need to lace my shoes better. Still a very pretty shoe with a unique design and one I love enough to look at getting the Hummingbird style for a change in color. Just the one with the most evident flaws and one I don't find I wear enough with my wardrobe. The Troy in Black I got very recently and haven't had much time to pair them with an outfit, but upon first wear I found them very comfortable and stylish. The suede catches dirt like crazy, but easy to brush off. Now, addressing the overarching problems: they don't take insoles well. They're not uncomfortable to walk in, but standing in place for prolonged periods proves uncomfortable and I haven't found an insole slim enough to fit and not squeeze my foot too much with the shoes. Overall solid boots and shoes with great designs and statements, they don't make too much of an impact or stand out too much but offer great style and flavor with good customer support. Quality control is a bit of an issue, but they're mostly superficial and easily taken care of. I cannot speak to the leather quality as I don't have much experience with leather but it feels good and has solid stretch, just needs conditioning upon delivery. Would recommend for occasional wear, definitely not every day picks but once or twice a week and they can go far.
