  If you’ve only tried LG, you’re already off to a solid start. they last forever. Other than that you can also look at Samsung and Sony if you want something reliable with good picture quality. TCL and Hisense are pretty popular too (especially for Roku/Google TV built-in and decent value for money). If you’re just using it for streaming or as a secondary TV, even Toshiba and Insignia (Amazon’s house brand) are decent and won’t break the bank. I’d avoid super off-brands unless you just need something temporary. But honestly, LG/Samsung/TCL/Sony are all pretty safe bets.

  "Hmm not sure if your question works for bifl considering you’re on a pretty low budget here, so all things considered you’re probably gonna have to replace it in a couple of years. You should cross post in r/frugal too cos there’s some good tips there for this sort of an issue. Still gonna try and help out though, LG seems like the safest bet to me vis a vis bifl like it’s definitely the most reliable and durable brand out of the lot, but is it gonna be the best TV? Probably not, LG’s cheaper options skimp out on the graphics (not true 4K) and it kinda defeats the purpose of why you’re buying it. Other than that, scratch Toshiba off the list altogether. TCL is kinda the midranger, I’d put it in the same category with Westinghouse, which would be my personal recc here considering you want good optics. Might not last 15 years, but true 4K UHD within the budget you’re workin with. Its got all its compatibilities down and there’s no glitch.   Best Dehumidifier for Basement Moisture Problems

  I finally had to replace my 30 year-old Sears unit last May. I bought a 50 pint TCL unit from Home Depot on sale for $172. Impressed with it, so far. Quiet and it knocks the humidity down quickly. I passed on HD's extended warranty and got the 3 year extended warranty directly from TCL for $30. Much better deal.

  I know TVs arent BIFL but

  Well I have had amazing experiences with LG, but will say absolutely DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG. Every TV I or a family member has ever had from them has had serious performance issues. Menus never want to open, sometimes being so slow they will be “closed” by their built in timer before they even open. The image quality is far inferior to pretty much every other brand at the same price point even though they are first party for panels which is mind boggling. The actual software offered in the first place sucks and is full of ads and bloatware seeping from every seam. Just miserable pieces of tech that are to be avoided at all costs IMO. Like another commenter said, find whatever LG or TCL fits at the top of your budget with your requirements and go with that and it’ll last a long time. One last anecdotal bit about my Samsung TV, the god damn legs broke off the first time I set it down, they’re each held in with like a 1/2” long 1/16” thick little bit of plastic, and I found both of those bits in my carpet just after, so the legs have been glued on since the day I bought it.

  The most reliable tv brands in the world?

  I recently bought a TCL C7K and I have no complaints. All the top brands like Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasoic, TCL, Hisense etc. make quality TVs so it really comes down to what you're using it for, what functionality you need and your budget. Rtings is a good website to compare specs but at the end of the day, seeing the TV picture in person should guide your decision.

  TVs are not BIFL…. Some can last very long, but hopefully you’ll live on long enough to see even the longest lasting TVs die :) In general, Sony is on top in terms of both quality and reliability. They have been for a long time as well. In the past, other brands such as Toshiba, Panasonic were also seen similarly, but they lost their way later (Panasonic has started to make their return to the US so let’s see how that goes). Of course, besides periods of good sales, Sony TVs also top the price lists. Depending on your budget, X90L, Bravia 7, Bravia 8, Bravia 9, A95L are all great. Avoid Bravia 5 and Bravia 3. I would avoid LG TVs that aren’t OLED. They’re top of the mountain for OLEDs (extremely comparable to Sony but quite a bit cheaper). Models like C4, G4 and later are great, but avoid their QNED, LED, etc ones. TCL makes great mini LEDs at a great price as well. QM7 and QM8 are great bang for your buck. That said, though, it’s important to know that you’re much better off buying TVs with a good warranty (especially for OLEDs, you want warranty that covers burnin. Costco’s Allstate one doesn’t). Regardless of brand, there’s a bit of a luck factor with panel lottery. You can end up with a shitty panel even from the best manufacturers. I recommend RTings . com for TV reviews. No reviewer is perfect, but they don’t post sponsored/biased stuff.

  The TCL has better specs and anti-reflective coating. The TCL has higher spec connectivity options. The Sony has ARC, the TCL has EARC (better). The Sony has Miracast, the TCL does not. It depends on what matters to you.

  Every year I think about replacing my 2011 Samsung TV but it’s still going strong. The design and picture quality has held up. I’m sure the new TVs would blow mine out of the water side by side, however, everyone is shocked when I tell them how old it is.

  Any future tvs we buy are tcls..dirt cheap

  Go on Marketplace and get something less than five years old and add a streaming box. I just got my mother an Android 4K 50" TCL for $85 and cleaned it up with ADB TV and replaced the launcher with Projectivy. My bedroom TV has the same elegant setup on a mid range Hisense for about the same price. Living room TV is a Hisense U series which is very good for a budget, 55" new for $250 and a $20 ONN Android box. None are OLED but all look absolutely fantastic and do all the HDR tricks. TVs are commodities these days. Our budget TCL and Hisense have a better picture than decade old Sony and LG. Marketplace in my area shows plenty of 70" screens for under $200. Cheap enough to gamble on. It's not like the old days when a TV would cost a couple of thousand dollars if you wanted something decent and large.

  If you don’t ever want to have to consider upgrading it then you want an OLED. LG B4 is a great deal in the states. Yes the UI sucks. Many people pair an Apple TV with their LG OLEDs so they don’t have to deal with it. I had a TCL before my LG. It was fine, no complaints and was affordable. Roku interface is nice and simple. Check reviews and comparisons on rtings

  TCL does everything in house and android is probably the best smart platform aside from Roku. Plus they dont usually over market their TVs with a bunch of nonsense features you won't use or care about in a television

  BIFL TVs do not exist, because tech is advancing a lot faster. I would go for the TCL (even if it has a Samsung panel) and never buy a Samsung - they are known for terrible quality. TCL software is generally good, so you probably won't have the issue of apps lagging on it.

  65 inch tv 350-400 dollar price range

  Just get tcl or hisense qled or qned. Good deals at best buy. I have a 75 inch hisense and 65 tcl and they are both fantastic. DONT GET UHD. Get qled, qned, ect. The deep blacks are worth it.

  Buying a decent TV in 2025

  I did my research extensively on this a month ago. I came from an LG and I’m not a fan. They are good but have settings issues and processing issues. Constantly had to fight with audio sync. This isn’t every one - but it’s there. The best TV currently on the market is the Bravia 9. Hands down - but it costs money. The next best for the money is the TCL QM8. Ended up with this and it’s phenomenal. Processing on this thing is next level.

  Looking for a television

  IDK if it’s BIFL, but love my 2 TCL Roku TVs. The interface is great, and we especially like buying our TV apps through Roku because it’s simple to cancel them when needed (all in one place). Of course, you can also stream from services you’ve set up directly. Roku also has numerous free apps for free content (older TV/movies, independent films, LocalNow, etc.). The 65” I purchased 4 years ago is going strong, and has dropped in price by 50% (now $450 on Amazon). We purchased the 40” for the bedroom last year. Bonus that we can replace remotes 2 for $10 (dog keeps killing them!)

  I'll get hate for this but OLEDs are a gigantic waste of money. Bought a '22 TCL 65" for $350 months before black Friday and I've been very happy. It'll last me 8+ years, in which I'll buy another $300 tv. Don't spend thousands on a TV
