Why is it so hard to find well-made clothes that aren't insanely priced?
It's not. The resale market is busting with inventory right because of people's overconsumption and social media flexing. I just got a $400 cashmere Theory cardigan for $60.

I'm looking for light, quick dry pants that won't fall apart after 3 uses
You’ve gotten a lot of rec’s already for hiking and technical pants that, if you squint, look like the kind of pants you could wear around Paris. If you’re looking for pants that you can wear on the streets of Paris that also have the durable/quick drying properties I suggest: https://outlier.nyc/collections/pants/slim-dungarees https://www.theory.com/raffi-5-pocket-pant-in-neoteric-twill/L0774201_001.html The Outliers are absolutely fantastic - I’ve owned a single indigo-colored pair for 6 years now and they’re outstanding. They can replace Jeans in daily wear, but also dark enough to wear with blazer for going out. They are very light. Theory neoteric is great too - I own 5 pairs. Will be modestly water repellent if caught in rain, and fast drying if REALLY caught in rain.

I (19M) need help with the mentality of "Buy it For Life" itself
At 19 I'd recommend buying cheap shit, then figure out what things bother you When I got out of the Navy I had to figure out how to dress like an adult. I bought crappy fast fashion boots and they disintegrated in like 6 months and it drove me nuts. I bought Redwings, and they lasted much longer, but I didn't love the style, and they stretched out the uppers when I sent them for a resole Fast forward 3 or 4 more pairs, and I love my Whites CMPs. I genuinely enjoy watching their website for new leather or style options But I still wear cheap shirts, because for whatever reason that doesn't bother me My wife and I have some IKEA furniture from 20 years ago, because it's good enough for the bookcase we don't use But the stuff that we use every day - the stuff that's important to us - we did the research and bought much better brands

Which women’s clothing brands do you stalk for sales? (20-30 age style)
I watch sales and buy my staples from MM LaFleur, Cuyana, Theory, Agolde denim, AYR, and Aday. All excellent quality and the pieces I’ve invested in have become frequent wears that hold up well over time.
