  Thermoflask. Got 2 pack in Costco 5-7 years back and still good. Still keeps my water cool or warm (depends on the weather outside).

  I went from HydroFlask to Takeya, mostly to save money without sacrificing quality. I save even more at Costco since they sell their products in two packs (usually) under the brand Thermoflask and at least some of the parts are interchangable.

  Big fan of my emotional support Thermoflask. All the gaskets for the top are super easy to clean and switch out when needed, ice stays ice for way longer than some other bottles I've used in the past. It also doubles as physical protection, especially when full. Not something I was considering when I got it but I've knocked myself quite a few times gently and it kinda hurts, this thing could do damage if needed on a hike or out and someone gets too weird and too close.

  I was gifted a Nalgene plastic bottle with the strapped lid, a simple clear plastic body with measurements and a sky blue lid. I figured out I could clip it to my belt loop via carabineer in highschool, often walked around with that banging into my hip and thigh. A couple years later I bought a few more with variations including a narrow mouth and a twice as large (it was longer not wider) version. I still have all of them, they work fine. The only consistent issue I had with the Nalgene bottles was they sweat buckets. Any ice in them was gone quickly and soaked whatever it touched. A few years ago Amazon turned me on to ThermoFlask/Hydroflask. I did get a couple of 20-24 ounce Hydroflask brand insulated bottles alongside a few lid options like a straw, a Propel-like titty-nipple to suck on as well, etc. but I wound up using these 40 ounce ThermoFlask bottles with basic lids. I have two of them, one white and one blue, one meant for work and the other for home use. Being diabetic on medications I need to drink quite a bit more water than I would usually drink and having a measurement reference that I can easily identify as mine and only mine has been helpful both for my health but peace of mind. I'm not drinking 8 glasses of water a day, I'm trying to aim for 1-1.5 of these 40 ounce bottles per day and it helps keep the ice for hours longer, close to a day. I can't speak to all insulated bottles and qualities between manufacturers, I'm not testing these things independently for comparison. I can tell you that I bought both of the bottles October 2019 (reviewed my Amazon purchase history lol) and both are still in fine condition though the blue one has developed a couple of small rusty spots on the inside bottom. The white one is in a little better shape though both have some small dents from drops and whatnot. I would recommend them based on my experiences. In the interest of disclosure I will be clear that I actively avoid abuse. Not just of people but tools and possessions. So I haven't run over my ThermoFlask bottles, not dropped off a building, not thrown across a parking lot, and not used as an improvised melee weapon. I've dropped both on many surfaces from asphalt and concrete to grass and tile and other than dents that aren't immediately noticeable unless you look at the underside, I'm looking at my blue bottle right now and I can barely find scratches. I'm pretty confident that with the lid changes (they're plastic) these bottles could last me the rest of my life.

  I had a thermoflask for about 5 years but lost it this summer while golfing. Currently on the hydroflask and have no complaints. I’ll likely use this until I lose it too, because it’s not about to break.

  Pretty much all water bottles and hydration systems are on the Nalgene standard for lids/mouths. I use Takeya and ThermoFlask bottles, which are probably all made in the exact same factory as Hydroflask and IronFlask, and they're all the exact same size and thread lids/mouths as Nalgene.

  Thermoflask I got at Costco. It is NOT the best at keeping things cold. It DOES have a top that *is attached to the lid* that you can unscrew to drink from. That attached to the lid is important to me because I drop things!

  Yeah thermoflask/takeya are great. Cheaper than yeti and hydro flask, and I'm not drinking out of any plastic, "safe" or not.

  Finally found a water bottle that doesn't crap out after a year

  My Hydro Flasks are champions. I wanted a lid that covered the top of the straw when I wasn't drinking., so I purchased a knockoff lid. It fits perfectly, no leaks. I also highly recommend Thermoflask, it's just as durable as Hydro Flask. For those who may not care about insulation, Contigo is excellent. I have some of their water bottles and coffee cups. I can throw any of these things into a tote without worrying about leaks.

  Water bottle recommendations?

  I picked up a set of Thermoflask bottles a few years ago at Costco and I have used them daily ever since. They keep my hot tea hot and my cold water cold all day long. The lids are easy to clean and they don't get too beat up in the dishwasher; only minor paint scratches after a few years of dishwasher abuse.

  I really like (insulated) water bottles with a sip/straw type opening, but the straw always seems to crack within 1-2 years. Any BiFL type options?

  I really like my thermoflask, it has a small opening for drinking from and has a silicone sleeve around the bottom to protect it from getting banged up. It will keep water cold for ages!

  BIFL request: A thermos that actually keeps tea hot for hours

  My thermoflask keeps my coffee too hot to drink for a few hours and more than lukewarm for ~5 hours. I might have an Easter egg though because I've heard other people complain about theirs.

  Water bottle that keeps water cold?

  I’m very happy with how cold my Owala bottle stays. Less happy about how easily the lids break though. I have a few thermoflask bottles that are great. I’ve had my 40 and 18 oz bottles for ~5 years and they are still keeping things really nice and cold, sometimes for multiple days.

  Best water bottle to take everywhere? One that can last very very long?

  I got a thermoflask from Costco and so far I'm super happy. The parts can be ordered in case of breakage. It also keeps this warm/cold for quite a while and the price just can't be beat.

  Water bottle that won't leak (without a silicone ring)

  I've been using a Thermo Flask for 8-9yrs. It's 500mL and for kids lol I used to use Nalgene and Contigos but have dropped them enough I've cracked the bottles. If you have a good grip they're good as long as they don't have a valve in the lid.

  Looking for recommendations for a water bottle- sleek, gray, leak proof

  Thermoflask 24 oz comes in gray. They also make a 40 oz though you might find that less practical (doesn't fit in most cupholders, for example).
