Electric waffle iron from any era that will make the best waffles
That’s such a loss — those old Toastmaster irons were absolute tanks. The heavy cast plates and simple mechanical thermostats on those vintage models gave them a kind of even heat and crispness that’s hard to replicate today. If you’re chasing that same feel, look for modern irons that use cast or die-cast metal plates (not lightweight nonstick aluminum) and have adjustable browning controls — that combo gives you a similar texture and control to the older builds. Some current models still prioritize that old-school sturdiness and can deliver a very close result. I’ve compared a bunch of modern waffle makers — including options that try to match that vintage-style performance — on my review site here: https://greatestappliances.com/kitchen/waffle-makers Good luck on your hunt — with the right one, you’ll be back to those perfectly crisp, golden waffles in no time.

Lost cord to grandpa’s waffle maker—any tips on finding a replacement?
Found the other half of the label (literally it's pretty much exactly the other half rubbed off) on this one, image 2 https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-chrome-toastmaster-waffle-3780562082 Power specs are 120v 1150w. I've found a few cables that look visually similar to the one in picture 3 on that post using those specs, but the pin spacing would help identify a valid replacement

Here is a link to one I found. The photos include one with the details about the power cord where yours is scratched out. It also includes photos of the power cord. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-chrome-toastmaster-waffle-3780562082 Here is a link to a cord I believe would work. https://a.co/d/aJmbg5K Good luck!

Time to upgrade toaster from a 60+ year old GE to a new Cuisinart. The GE still works it's just getting a bit flaky, needs a new spring and where do you get parts for a 60+ year old toaster? BUT I'll keep the GE for when the Cuisinart dies and will find a spring.
I have a 1950s Toastmaster in chrome that I love more than my gfs brand new fancy All Clad. If it breaks I'll buy one off ebay for parts or have it repaired
