Wool coat for the Northeast
Beckbe Fowler Jacket, $595. [Link](https://tombeckbe.com/products/fowler-jacket) So hear me out, it's tight across my chest, too much room in the abdomen (I'm in fairly good shape), the zipper broke within 2 months... BUT, it comes in tall sizes, even tight in the chest, i have enough room to wear a good wool sweater under it. Waxed canvas, wool insulation. I returned first once for broken zipper; the replacement has worked flawlessly for 2 years now and i don't treat it kindly.

Tom Beckbe Tensaw review (first impressions)
Sure thing! It’s been a year since I got the jacket. I love it and would definitely buy again. The quality has held up nicely, I have zero complaints regarding that. It is super versatile and in my climate, I can wear it >6 months of a year. I just have to vary the layers a bit. A small annoyance are the snaps on the sleeve tightener straps and the back flap. The sleeve ones tend to snap open when I’m putting on a backpack and the back flap can come undone if I’m already wearing a backpack and push my hands in the lower hand warmer pockets or tug on the jacket for some reason. So I’d wish they were a bit tighter. However, these are truly small issues. If you’re planning to wear this over a sports coat or a blazer as I sometimes do, note that the heaviness of the jacket makes it a bit difficult to get the shoulders of the blazer to fit correctly. It just takes some adjusting. I don’t know what else to say. I still recommend it highly!
