Looking for in ear monitors with sound quality comparable to my earbuds
There's a ton of brands, most cheaper than Shure with reasonably comparable quality. The Truthear GATE is plasticy but works shockingly well with some foam eartips and a little software EQ. And this is from someone who has owned some ludicrously expensive audio nonsense. Buying good headphones
The Truthear GATE IEMs sound shockingly good (especially if you put a \~3db lowpass shelving filter at 180hz using equalizer software) and the mic is decent enough for gaming. For recording dialogue, the old wired Apple Earpods have a shockingly good microphone. Much better than any lav I've heard under $50.

I’ve been through a similar search recently — wanted something with real IEM sound but not Shure prices. You might want to check out **Moondrop Aria** or **7Hz Salnotes Zero**. Both have surprisingly balanced tuning and metal builds that last. The Aria feels more “musical,” while the 7Hz is flatter and detailed — depends if you want fun or reference sound. Also, if you ever come across **Truthear Zero: Red**, that one punches way above its price range. Been using mine for months in commute and gym, still looks brand new.
