  I’d toss some watch brands in their (Omega, Rolex, Tudor, Some Seiko) Long lasting products, built to stand daily abuse and with warranties and support networks worldwide. Do also love my spyderco knifes and my aluminum bugout

  Watch recommendations for class and comfort

  For sub 1k: look at Tissot (PRX), Hamilton (Khaki field/pilot watches), or for independents: Yema, Baltic, Traska (just a sampling). These are great starting points. For 1-3k: I think the world of Longines. Probably best value and quality in this bracket and across all prices ranges (if you ask me). Also consider Nomos, Oris, Christopher Ward. For 3-5k: (still below Rolex/Omega) consider anything by Tudor. I've focused here on quality mechanical watches. These do require maintenance every 3-5+ years, so there will be ongoing expense (\~$300 for basic service). But the upside these are robust everyday watches that often have good water resistance ratings (can go swimming in), are stylish and polished enough to be worn dressed up or down, are built to last a lifetime if properly maintained (Tudors and Longines especially), and versatile enough that you can build a 1 watch collection and not sink down the rabbit hole of watch collecting (a dangerous and expensive habit).

  Most Durable Everyday Watch in 2025?

  Birth year Seiko tuna is awesome. I wish I had the money to own every single one. Someday! I currently have the Casio, Citizen Eco, Orient Bambino, and BB58. Consider the Oris or Longines next. Or another Tudor if I’m feeling frisky.

  Casio and Citizen eco drive are awesome recos. Another affordable option is any Orient Diver or Bambino. Like an Orient Kamasu. A bit pricier I’d go with anything Hamilton. Like a Khaki. More pricier would look at anything Oris or Longines. Like a Oris big crown. Or a longines conquest. Even more pricier would look at Tudor. Like a BB58, Ranger, or Pelegos. Any of those would survive generations.

  What are some of the best products/brands you love splurging on?

  Wristwatches, in general. I’m not wholly loyal to any one particular brand, but with any watch I’ve made a conscious decision to buy, it’s never let me down. Brands include: Casio, Seiko, Oris, Rado, Mido, Timex, Vostok, Tudor, Rolex, Jaeger leCoultre, even a microbrand called Zelos. The other things I will happily splurge on are well-made raw denim jeans, leather jackets, waxed jackets like a Barbour, shoes (especially Chelsea and heritage work-styled boots eg. RM Williams, Yuketen).

  Most quality watches are BIFL, honestly. Tudors, Omegas, GSs, Breitling, APs, Pateks, Tags, VCs, Doxas, CWs, Farers, Glashutte, AL&Ss, and so on and so forth all easily qualify as BIFL

  Quality watch that will last

  Really what you want in a BIFL watch is a watch with a Swiss or Japanese mechanical movement. Hamilton, Oris, Rado, Longines, Nomos, Sinn, Seiko, Tissot are all reputable brands that make nice watches at that price point. I think the most handsome watch at that size is the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph 38. (I know its a little bigger than you want. But it's a damn good watch). If you're looking at Used models, I'd recommend a Tudor Black Bay 36 with the Smiley dial. Tudor is a sister brand to Rolex. And their watches are extraordinarily well built.

  Any recommendations for wind up or self winding wrist watches?

  Definitely going to need a budget, because I doubt you really mean “any” If it is any, go Rolex, if you want new and now go Tudor/Omega. If it is limited, for 300 usd you can get great seiko automatics which will be serviceable their whole life. If you want more accuracy, get something Swiss with an eta 2824 (around 1000usd)
