Little luxuries or upgrades that you made this year that makes your everyday better?
I have some $30 cheapie off Amazon. Been going strong for 6 years now. I'm a big fan of BIFL. But I'm also a big fan of, 'If you want something, buy the cheap version. If you use it enough to break it, spend real money on it.' Ive been using that little squirter daily, I keep waiting for it to break so I can get a fancy Tushy or something, but alas. That thing will probably just keep on working.

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
My kids turned me on to Tushy and several years in I'm very happy. Affordable and easy to install. Like everyone else, I never want to be without.

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
I bought a Tushy back when they sponsored a podcast i enjoyed, and it's been going with no problems for over 10 years now. It's just a slab of plastic, but they don't have to do anything but sit in one place, so build quality isn't really a factor.

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
Tushy makes some that are easy to install. Portable ones are also an option, with the bonus that you can take it with you if you like.

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
I mean, I never needed a plumber for a tushy or omigo, they come with a simple hose bypass that attaches to your current supply line. A small set of pliers or channel locks are all you need. Nothing gets damaged. If it’s a heated one, that’s another issue. No way will I touch plumbing + electrical.

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
Yes! Some are independent attachments (Tushy, Omigo), others come in the toilet seat. Game changer. Got one while I was expecting twins because I was, uh, not svelte and pregnancy back pain made things challenging. Both my husband and I find it extremely unpleasant to go without a bidet now.

What’s the cheapest way to get a bidet setup at home that actually lasts?
Go for basic bidet with brass stainless fittings like luxe or higher end tushy lasts years, install in minutes, and avoids the flimsy plastic issues.

What’s the cheapest way to get a bidet setup at home that actually lasts?
I've had a basic tushy attachment for about 3 years now, super easy install and no leaks so far. Honestly the cheap plastic ones feel flimsy, so it's worth spending a little extra for one with metal fittings.

People bash Tushy or celebrate them. Had mine for 2 years. Love them. Not “for life” but at the price point can recommend these in the meantime.

Have the Tushy with warm water. Only difference is you put the T on the warm water line.

What’s the cheapest way to get a bidet setup at home that actually lasts?
Tushy. Didn’t need a plumber. Just hooked up to existing water line. If you want hot water, you may need to run a line over but I’ve been perfectly fine with cold water.

What’s the cheapest way to get a bidet setup at home that actually lasts?
I had the Tushy for years. I installed a Brondell seat recently that has it built in. I like it better because the tushy was an add on and would slip and require more cleaning.

What’s the cheapest way to get a bidet setup at home that actually lasts?
Cheapest? Any spray nozzle and hose with a T-coupling from any hardware store for probably <$25. I recommend getting a stainless steel unit for cleaning purposes, but plastic will work fine. J I have a Tushy 2.0 in one bathroom and just ordered another. Honestly, they're a little overpriced, but they work great, are incredibly simple, and easy to clean and clean around. (2.0 is \~$90, 3.0 is $120 which is a LOT for what it does). Japanese Toto's for the expensive version (>$300) which are self-cleaning, but if you're spending that much, make sure to get the ones with the carbon air filters -- they REALLY cut down on unpleasant aromas.

What’s the cheapest way to get a bidet setup at home that actually lasts?
Cheapest ? Tushy probably. But a brondell or toto is completely worth it. Highly recommend. Heated seat. Night light. Warm water. Life changing poops.

I've had a tushy 2.0 since '22. I'm not sure what you could do to make it break. It's a simple piece of plumbing.

I just ordered the tushy brand. It's fine. You can probably get one cheaper that is similar. It's a larger brand, looks fairly unobtrusive. I have two and they've lasted 6 years so far.

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
Don't get a cheap one with lots of features. Cheap + complex = breaks/leaks. It's probably not worth getting one with hot water. It will never be warm right away, and you'll just get used to the cold anyways. Fewer connections = fewer leaks. YMMV in extremely cold climates. I've had good results with the base model Tushy brand. They're by no means luxury and not the cheapest, but they've been consistently decent quality. Whatever you get, if you have hard water, you may need to service them every year or two. Like any of the faucets and fixtures in your house.

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
From a family that has had both, I’d recommend either Luxe Bidet 180/185 or Tushy Classic 3.0. The Luxe with two nozzles is a great way to start. I can’t believe that it took so long to discover just how life-changing a good bidet can be, but at least my young son has discovered it early and will be our ‘bidet evangelist’ going forward. Just. Get. One. TODAY!!

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
A bit more than $50 but worth mentioning the Tushy (or similar bidet attachment). Truly life changing and if it cost $500 and needed to be replaced annually I'd do it no questions asked.

It's not as good as something hooked to the water but this is a lot better than nothing in my opinion. https://hellotushy.com/products/tushy-travel-bidet?variant=13788561702954

We just bought a new house! What are your BIFL items for new homeowners?
This! We got a tushy in 2020 and love it. Since it isn’t connected to electricity or hot water it’s very simple and I assume will continue to last as long as we keep it clean.

What are some items under $500 you’ve made so far that changed your life?
Tushy is nice but not necessary. It's my favorite of the three I've purchased with the best flow adjustment but most of the cheaper ones of Amazon work well. Just a little more... Forceful. Bio bidet and luxe are both great. I'm not big on the warm water as it's not instant so what's the point. Takes as long as your tap to get warm. The cold is refreshing anyways.

Bidet with strong pressure
We have both a Tushy and a Luxe. The Luxe has higher pressure, but it's a jet that feels sharp and sometimes hurts. The Tushy has lower, but still decent, pressure, and a somewhat less focused nozzle so it's much more comfortable. I much prefer the Tushy, but I don't know how it would work with low water pressure. You might want to look into one of the ones that replace the seat and need electricity. They're more expensive but they'll heat the water, and the seat, and they tend to have a built in pump so they'll make up for low water pressure.

What is the best bidet?
I've tried a few. *Tushy* has by far the best water pressure and settings.
