Best Stocking Stuffers?
Mini Swiss Army Knife (or those cute fish ones from Mikov) were a hit last year. This year: the small Tweezerman nail kit (clippers, file, pushes) and tweezers, Ti-tape mini tape measure, Mooncat nail polish, an old embossing Dymo labeler, recipe cards (lots of options for these, I got cute ones from Paper Source), Smart Wool mittens, Aquaphor lip balm, and some fun candies from World Market. I try to make it functional but also some fun treats. Check out Boston General Store. That's often a first stop to spark inspiration for gifting for me.

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it?
Highest quality set of nail clippers (green bell) and tweezers (tweezerman) that I could justify spending money on.

Has anyone sent in their Tweezerman products for free sharpening?
Yes, it does take a long time. It is free. It takes about six weeks so you usually have to buy another one you wait. I have so many to have sharpened

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
- 3.4oz travel bottles for soap etc. - a 6 foot USB-C charger - I also got a little USB-C to micro converter - Cascade powder instead of pods (caveat I have an old machine) - hemostat clamps - tweezerman tweezer - japanese nail clippers

What are your “keep it for life” hacks?
Just sent four pairs to Tweezerman and they came back 6 weeks later freshly sharpened. Make sure to keep a pair at home while you wait for the others to be sharpened because it takes awhile. But it’s free.

Scissor action nail clippers
Might be a UK specific brand, but Tweezerman do a set of 2 - smaller curved ones (like your picture) for finger nails, larger straight ones for toe nail. I’ve had mine for years, so I can vouch for them being BIFL.

NYT just put out a list of their BIFL picks
There are the big type of clippers and the small type. I loathe the big type, like the one on this list. I also went on a rabbit hole deep dive of clippers recently and ended up with a small type Tweezerman, which works really well. Ironically, I could only get it as a set with a big one. Probably the same one you have.

NYT just put out a list of their BIFL picks
I used to use cheap nail clippers for years and honestly hated having to clip my nails. Finally bought a slightly nicer tweezerman pair on a whim and was blown away by how much better my life could’ve been lol

What's the most expensive item you've bought with the intention of keeping it for life?
Tweezerman products (at least the tweezers but I think also clippers?) have a lifetime warranty and aren’t $80, they will sharpen or replace their products

All the best products/brands to buy for life?
Victorinox knives. Mocamaster coffee machine. Saddleback leather. All clad pots and pans. Tweezerman tweezers. Seki nail clippers. Parker Jotter pens. Texas Instruments calculator. Maui Jim sunglasses. Estwing hammer. Allen Edmond dress shoes. Honorable mentions that are top quality but not for life: Melin hats (closest to bifl caps). Vornado fans (5-10yr warranty). Thursday boots (great price to quality ratio).

Recommending the Japanese nail clippers
I have Green Bell G-1008 nail clippers and I hate them so much I will send them to you for free. I’ve used them twice. (Serious offer if you’re interested.) I have very strong fingernails and the only satisfying clip I get is with Tweezerman nail clippers.

This Shu Uemura eyelash curler that I’ve had for over 20 years
I have bought and used Tweezerman refills (it's been awhile, but I bought the purple ones) and they seem to do the job. Another responder above says she uses Shiseido refills. The Shu and the Shiseido are similar shape and size... Maybe try the Shiseido refills??

This Shu Uemura eyelash curler that I’ve had for over 20 years
Hi Fellow Shu Uemura fans! My Shu Iconic eyelash curler... is jeeze, almost 20 years old. I had always just used cheap ones from the drugstore, but my daughter talked me into splurging on The Shu. I DO remember it was very pricey, but I caved and bought it. OH HOW I ADORE my curler! I discovered that purple Tweezerman refills fit very well and my Shu has had daily use for all these years! But sadly, a few weeks ago, I felt a 'pop' as I was using it and I realized the soldering had broken. So I just bought a Mac curler, and then a Shisheido, a Tweezerman and a couple of others, one after the other... and NOT ONE comes close to my Shu! They ALL curl my lashes in an inward direction, no matter what I try. (After the Mac one was wonky, now I just hold them up next to my old Shu to check the shape, width & angle, so I can return them.) There is just 'something' about the shape, width & angle of the Shu that suits my eye shape. So now, I want to order from Shu directly. Hopefully it is still the same because (for me) no other curler seems to compare. Can anybody tell me if the design has changed?

Tweezermans are the best and they also do free sharpening. I've sent tweezers in to be sharpened countless times. It takes several weeks so it's good to have a backup pair in the meantime. But they come back good as new.
