What product category has gotten worse in quality, even at the premium level?
Can attest. My UE boom from 2014 ish? Was left outside in a hurricane. Perfectly fine. My UE ROLL, I got refurbished in 2018? That one was in a hot tub (in the water) for at least a week. Both still work today.

I bought a couple of the UE Roll bluetooth speakers and those things are GREAT! You can bury them in mud, rinse them with a hose and they keep going.

Need a lightweight speaker that fits in a backpack (not bulky)
I've had a UE Boom 3 (I think?) basically since they were released, it's lived in the water bottle pocket of my backpack since. Good sounding speaker, battery life isn't awesome anymore (it was when I first got it) but that's probably more due to age and # of charge cycles than quality of the product.

In ear headphones. Plz help. Tired of replacing constantly.
If you want them to last, anything with batteries will die and be unrepairable. Wired ones, specifically those with detachable/replaceable cables are the only way to go. I have Ultimate Ears Triple.fi, amazing sound quality, I’ve gone through 2 lots of cables, but they’ve lasted almost 20 years

JBL Flip 4. Going strong nearly 8 years!
I have a UE Boom from 2014...speaker rattles a bit at high volume but battery is still great and sound is 8/10 what it used to be. I love it.

What’s one item you bought that way outperformed its price?
Ultimate Ears Wonderboom Bluetooth speaker. Can't speak for the newer generations, but I got the original for 70 euros nearly 7 years ago and it has survived countless falls and many hours under the sauna bench, not to mention coming with me on every trip and playing music on more evenings than not. It is only now starting to sometimes cut off the connection randomly, but a quick restart fixes this. Looking to buy a new one whenever the next generation releases, but I will keep it around as a back-up for sure.
