  We use the Uppababy Minu travel stroller as our main stroller, and for a fraction of the cost of the Vista it’s been great! For us the more compact, lightweight design was a pro and the smaller wheels, carrying capacity, and inability to go up to 2 kids aren’t a problem. You can also get adapters for the car seat or bassinet so it works for tiny babies too!

  Uppababy Cruz lives in our garage and is occasionally taken on a long outing. The yoyo travel stroller is what we used for our newborn and what we take for most restaurants/shops as I find the uppababy cumbersome. Goes on the plane with us. The yoyo wouldn’t be great for long walks in our suburban neighborhood with some unpaved roads. Short story, I also tried to buy just one stroller, but if you can afford it, 2 is nice.

  Seconding this we bought the Uppa Baby Vista and it lasted til 3. For Car / Travel we bought a Good baby Pockit foldable travel stroller that fit in a backpack and could go as carry on. If you're worried about price Good Buy Gear does inspected second hand or open box baby gear. We ended up selling items to them after they were done.

  We were gifted an UppaBaby Vista. That thing is amazing. Even brought it to Disneyland when he was 5 because he can’t walk for super long and he fit. Worth every penny.

  We had an UppaBaby vista. Lasted through two kids with heavy use and was still fine when we gave it away. Went everywhere with it. we had the platform for our older daughter who would stand and ride while the little one was in the stroller. Something wasn’t quite right with the bar that went across the seat, so they sent us a new one right away (before we needed to use it).

  We have lived in NYC, Middle East and now NYC. We’ve had the uppababy vista since 2020 and it’s still our main workhorse stroller. Front wheels need a tune up and a clean but really solid/going strong. And has survived all those moves! Have never had a single crack/break other than the basket that our 5 yo likes to sit in (which is a simple repair)

  We have a second hand Uppababy Vista 2019 that we bought in 2023 and is still going strong with our second child today. We abuse that thing - it survives daily use on terrible streets, lived outside under a carport through 2 Boston winters, and has gone on all sorts of tough terrain (off-roading) . In terms of BIFL I’d def recommend it! If you live in a big metro area they’ll do a full tuneup for free too.

  TLDR; The only thing that’s buy it for life is the actual baby 😩 I relate to this post so hard. We have a 4 and a 2 year old. I seriously researched for almost a year to find a great stroller and was still somehow letdown. We currently have 4 strollers and they’re all eh. Uppababy is fine but my kids outgrew the height limit for their stroller seats sooo quickly. It’s also heavy and a pain to load / unload from the car. We have a Wonderfold wagon and it’s great, especially for the airport, but it’s pretty big and bulky and takes up almost the entire trunk of our SUV. Tbh the most versatile, easiest stroller we bought as a $30 umbrella stroller from Walmart. And a plain ole radio flyer red wagon. Congrats and Good luck!

  Check out strollers with a bassinet option or ones that can lay flat for newborns. Stuff like the UPPAbaby Vista or Baby Jogger city Select can last for years and change as your kid gets older. Make sure they work with infant car seats too. A lot of folks mention borncritic for reviews and side-by-sides, so that might help you out

  Uppababy is great, except on grass. We have IT and soccer fields are extra bouncy for the baby. Is just so easy to fold/unfold and navigate, the positives outweigh the negative. If you plan to do a lot of hiking with a stroller, get something with shocks.

  I got a second hand Uppababy for $150 on Craigslist. Nicer than anything else I could get at that price point. Zero regrets. Still has life in it and passing it on to our baby nephew 3 years later.

  I used the bassinet as baby’s primary bassinet until he was three months old! It was great, he slept like a rock. I actually don’t mind getting the UB Vista out of the car. It’s on the heavier side, but I pull the lever as I’m lifting it out of my trunk so it pops out as I take it out. I walk with baby to the grocery store and put like, four days of groceries into the bottom basket!

  I recommend buying a second hand uppababy vista, you can find for half the price. If you get a second baby soon you can get some add ons to carry both kids. It will go well for a few years until you will realize that you need a wagon :)

  Uppababy is great (try and get the previous version that included the bassinet) but it’s not ideal for two since the bassinet needs to be in the back when you use it for two. There’s also the mockingbird.

  This is one of those things where a lot of people do end up buying twice, but it is not always unavoidable. The models I see people actually keep using are usually the sturdier ones that feel overbuilt rather than sleek. Uppababy Vista and Cruz come up a lot because they work with a bassinet or car seat early and still feel solid with a heavier toddler. The Baby Jogger City Mini GT also seems to last people a long time, especially if they walk a lot, since it handles rougher sidewalks better. The tradeoff is they are heavier and not as compact, which is usually why people switch later. Trying them in person matters more than specs, since pushing and folding feel very different stroller to stroller. What kind of walking do you expect to do most, short errands or longer daily walks?

  We have it and also travel by car mostly in the suburbs. The vista is excellent quality and still looks great years later. It is heavy though- consider the uppababy cruz as an alternative. It’s very similar, though a little lighter and more compact. Still bigger/sturdier than their travel stroller (minu- we have this in addition to the vista). The newer model of the Cruz lays flat and turns into a bassinet so you can use it from day 1

  We just bought a bugaboo fox as it fitted out lifestyle best, but were torn between that and the uppababy vista. The upper baby definitely has a better reputation as far as customer service goes and replacing broken parts, so from a bifl perpective this might be the answer. We went with the fox because they seem to hold resale value better and mostly because they are very tall my husband is 6,7 and it’s the only pram he didn’t hunch to push. We plan on buying a joolz aer+ if we feel we need a travel stroller (because the bugaboo is HEAVY) at a later date second hand. Highly recommend getting a car seat that is for your baby at the time, a child’s body goes through so many changes and I simply don’t believe what suits a new born suits a toddler and what suits toddler suits a six year old.

  So I have a slight obsession with baby/kid products. Anything to make my life easier! So I have several strollers in my garage/car. I live in the country on a gravel road to give you background. - Uppababy Vista - this thing is a BEAST - heavy and rock solid. I wouldn’t recommend for early postpartum since the parent giving birth should not be heavy lifting for at least 6-8 weeks. I didn’t buy this until kid #2 was here and it was second hand. My most used stroller for 2 kids. Works well on gravel as well as lots of in and out of the car. It’s so solid, you literally can’t break it. It’s meant to be used and abused. The storage is also amazing! - Bugaboo Butterfly - I bought this when I was going to flying with just 1 child and it eventually became the easy load and go stroller. It does indeed fit above you in the plane. Compatible with our car seat. I used this extensively in my fresh postpartum period and I had CS so heavy lifting is very frowned upon on. This is actually what I recommend for first time parents to start out with until they know their preferences. It’s easier on the wallet and it has a decent resell market. - Uppababy Ridge - this was the stroller we chose when I was pregnant with our first kiddo. We loved it. You can use the car seat and bassinet with it. Works even better on gravel or a bumpy lawn than the vista. Pushes so good. However since having kid #2 we have only pulled it out a handful of times. We will likely use this stroller more once Kid #1 outgrows the Vista. I don’t think this one is going to have a good resale outcome despite it being Uppababy. -Gladly Anthem Wagon - I love this for parades and zoos where there’s a lot of getting in and out. However once I got the Vista, we rarely have touched this even with car seat attachments.. We might use it more once kid #2 is a toddler. - Evenflo DualShyft Car seat/stroller - this is their version of the doona. I will say that this was awesome to travel with an infant on a plane. We bought kid #1 a seat and it fit amazingly. This one is sadly not reached for as often since it’s not as intuitive (or maybe we just needed more practice - I don’t know lol). If I lived in the city and needed to travel with a car seat and stroller (like a lot of ride share or taxi) then I would consider this one. I will say that I have a couple friends with doonas as their only stroller and they love it. Would not recommend this for gravel or lawns. There is no suspension. All in all - my vote would be for 2 ride to die strollers and those would be the Vista and the Butterfly. That would cover pretty much all of your possible uses for a stroller. I would recommend the Uppababy snug seat regardless of what stroller you settle on. I used it in every attachment and stroller possible since it really stabilizes their wobbly head in those early weeks except for the infant carrier car seat. Also a quiet shout out for the Nuna Pipa Lite Rx car seat! Compatible with all of these options listed above and we chose it because it was one of the lightest car seats at the time of kid #1’s birth.

  Just to mention that my (now 3) year old son has simply refused to go near a pram since he learned to speak shortly after 2 because they are “for babies”- he simply must scoot , cycle , or be carried by me. There was a brief period where we tried to still bring him places in the pram when it rained (for the rain cover) but it honestly looked like he was being kidnapped as he kicked the rain cover so I just bought him a rainsuit and stopped.  My point being - don’t overthink it.  Also bugaboo fox (or uppababy vista if you want a massive basket)

  We bought a used Uppababy Vista. Gifted an Uppababy Minu travel stroller for baby shower from parents.  We ended up using the Minu for 99% of walks, trips, and travel. It’s a great stroller that’s super robust despite the compact size. We used it until our son turned 2.5 but it’s not because he outgrew the Minu but he wanted to walk and run.

  We got the Uppababy Ridge because there’s only negligible size difference between it and Vista/Cruz and the weight wasn’t a big enough difference to really notice. We didn’t want to have to buy multiple strollers, so we went with the one that could go pavement or off road. The seat folds down to almost flat, so our kid can nap if he gets sleepy. Ultimately we decided there was nothing the Ridge couldn’t do that the others could, but there were things the Ridge could do that the others couldn’t. It’s been great. They get you with having to buy some add ons like drink caddie and the tray for the kiddo to use.

  Uppababy vista absolutely. We used up to four years old with a second baby as well. Then resold it for $600. It went through heaps of airports and saw an ocean of goldfish. The only thing I would recommend is getting the attachment for your car seat and an insert for the rumble chair, a lot of sunscreens stain the fabric.

  We used Uppababy Cruz from newborn to about 3 years.  Used very heavily, in a city. Resold it at age 4 for decent price.   Kid started using a scooter to get around at about 3

  Uppababy Cruz. Vista imo is too big and even if you end up having more kids it’s still huge and awkward. Even the Cruz I find too big sometimes and heavy. We used it w the Clek liing. My daughter is 2 and still using it (except in the winter when it sucks lol). (For context we ended up w 3 strollers lol - we also have bugaboo butterfly for travel and quick trips like mall and zoo, and Thule urban glide for winter).

  We have the Uppababy Cruz, which is not convertible to a double stroller but is slightly smaller and lighter. Ours has been in constant use since my first was born, and she just turned 6. We added a piggyback board for the older one since my kids are about 2 years 9 months apart. The stroller itself is still really solid and works great.

  Seconding all the UppaBaby recs but I think a Cruz is all you need. The Vista isn’t great for two kids in my opinion and if you only have one, the Cruz will be great and it’s also lighter. That said, getting a second stroller probably is unavoidable, at least in my experience. I wasn’t willing to gate check my UppaBaby which meant getting a carry on ready travel stroller. Other people find they need a jogging stroller or a wagon at some point. The UppaBaby is a great daily driver, it’s a total workhorse, but no stroller is truly utilitarian. Shop now for what you’ll need now, don’t try to shop for what you need now and later, odds are that your needs will change with time.

  Another vote for the uppababy vista. We were able to find one secondhand for half the retail price. The bassinet is great for when they are newborns. You can get an uppababy car seat (or other brands with a converter kit) that can fit directly onto the stroller base too.

  Got the uppababy Vista and it's been solid from day 1 to now (kid's almost 3). The bassinet works great for newborns, clicks right into the frame. Pricey but we never needed a second one. Worth it if you can swing the cost.

  Baby pram/strollers in EU

  We really like the uppababy. It's a brand from USA but available in Europe as well. We used it heavily for our two kids. Transporting tons of groceries and a baby or toddler. Nothing broke, it did not rattle, easy to fold and so on. I sold it to some people and they have their 2nd child in there now. So fourth use.

We only added the extra seat no need to replace the whole stroller. It saves money and space, and honestly the biggest difference has been how convenient it is day to day folds up easily, fits in the car, and the basket is huge

  What’s one item you bought that way outperformed its price?

  A few things: 2006 Toyota Corolla— bought in 2012 for $7k, and it’s still going strong today. IKEA ektorp couches— bought them in 2016/2017 because the covers are removable and washable. They’ve survived 4 kids and a German shepherd (who used to play in the mud and then come in and jump on them)… probably washed the covers at least once a month, sometimes even multiple days in a row due to kids/dog, and they still look great today! We bought an extra set of covers just in case, but we’ve still never had reason to open them. Uppababy Vista stroller— bought in 2018, and have used (and abused) it ever since. It’s survived 4 kids, often having 3 in it at the same time. Fun fact: the basket underneath is super strong, and can hold a 2 year old and 4 year old together, while having an infant in the bassinet above. We’ve used it as a portable bassinet in the house, daily walks on sidewalks, at parks, over mulch, gravel paths, 12 hour days at Disney, on cruise ships, etc. It’s probably the best baby purchase we ever made. I don’t think there’s been a single day in the past 6 years that it hasn’t been used.

  We have an uppababy minu v. 2 and loved it so much that we bought a second one for traveling (now that we have two kids.) It doesn't fit in the overhead compartment, but the fact that it's slightly larger than other travel strollers is a plus since my four year still fits in it comfortably and is a bit more sturdy than other travel options. You can fold it with one hand and the back can recline fully for nap. They just came out with a v3 but it looked worse to me, and it means that if you can find a v2 it will be on sale.

  UPPAbaby, I would look on marketplace. But honestly buy a cheap one for now and if you really do use it a lot then upgrade. Ours turned into rolling storage very quickly and we ended up just buy a wagon to pull which was 1000x better

I called about an issue and the customer service rep walked me through how to fix it, emailed me instructions in case J forgot, and told me to get back in touch if it didn’t work and they’d help again. It’s 2.5 years old and still in great working condition, just started using it for our second and the kickboard has been so fun for my first

  Uppababy Minu v2 is our most used stroller.  It’s considered a travel stroller but we use it as a daily. It’s built much more beefy than other ultra compact or flimsy travel strollers. We’ve used it from newborn to 2 so far and expect to get even more use from it. We’ve taken it on walks, into parks, and onto smooth trails. It stays in the trunk and folds up small. It has adapters for attaching bassinet and car seat. At first it seems a pain to attach the adapters but they color code it and make it easy to snap on and off. After 2 times, it takes like 5 seconds to attach. Very large and secure storage area underneath. We recently got the roll board attachment that attaches in back and will soon get him to holding on to it when he doesn’t want to sit. You would need a proper jogger stroller if you want to do serious hikes. But we are using the backpack baby carrier for that, not a stroller. We used the warranty once for a part of the seat fabric attachment that broke off. Uppababy sent us an entire upper chassis and seat for free to replace it, as the new design was more robust. No hassle, no complaints!
