Please help me decide between shark vacuums that will last!
I would never buy a Shark or a Henry. I have two vacuums, a basic Vacmaster and a Vacmaster Respira. I live alone in a flat and have two cats. How it works: * Basic Vacmaster - it's wet and dry, does all floor surfaces, can also be used outside, and can unblock sinks and toilets. * Vacmaster Respira - this is designed for pets, dry only, slightly more powerful, lifts everything including shed fur and cat litter. It's an upright with attachments so can do furniture, walls, ceilings, everything. Both models are solid, tough, and long term. The basic cost me £70 and the Respira £99 from the Cleva website where you get spares and service. Cleva Vacmaster (and Lawnmaster) do vacuums for all environments - domestic, commercial and industrial. In my experience these are the best vacuums I've ever used and even with two I've paid less than a lot of other makes and models on the market.

Carpet Cleaner Recommendations
To start, I’m NOT a carpet cleaner, just a frustrated homeowner. I didn’t like the way my machines worked so I started experimenting. I have a bissell little green pet pro and a bissell proheat2x revolution pet. The little green cleaned much better than the full sized proheat. It has these silicone type agitators and I thought that was the difference. Both were not good at sucking the cleaning solution from the carpets. Vacuums are all about water lift. Nothing else matters. Bissell doesn’t publish these numbers because they aren’t good. Then I bought a vacmaster beast wet vac for like $100. I poured ¼ cup of water in 3 different spots on the carpet. Then I used all three machines to extract their own quarter cup and measured how much liquid they pulled up. The little green was better than the proheat and the vacmaster was almost double the little green. So now I use a handheld spray bottle with bissell solution mixed in, and a silicone scrub brush from norwex, with the vacmaster. Works so much better than anything I ever got from bissell. I don’t do the whole carpet because I’ve never needed to, just for spots if and when they show up.

The best vacuum money can buy?
Since you said you didn’t care how heavy / what it looks like, obviously the answer is a Vacmaster Beast. Bonus useful for connecting to saws and drywall attachments. Works on wet as well.
