  I need a new Water Flosser. Suggestions?

  Hate when u wake up one day and they decide to die on u, lol. waterpiks are usual go-to ones, but i'd also suggest looking into a cordless one so it's more chill. i was looking at [this one](https://d3oc4tmn8qmbnq.cloudfront.net/?q=GMKAO1981 recently and the battery life seems really good - like a month on one charge, so you're not constantly plugging it in yk. the tank size is nice too, don't have to refill it mid-floss or anything.

  Best Quality of life gift ideas under $150

  A WaterPik that plugs into the wall is a great choice. The model I have has some replaceable parts. Battery operated models don't get enough pressure.

  What do you usually look for when choosing an electric toothbrush?

  That it doesn't break on me so I have to replace it with another toothbrush, and has a water floss because I don't floss with the string floss much. I bought the waterpik because it was the one I heard of. And it didn't break on me in my experience and I just keep it plugged in so it doesn't lose battery.

  Best Quality of life gift ideas under $150

  I went with Sonicare because of a sale. Only had for a month so can’t speak to long term quality, yet. But if it died I’d pick up another one or oral B immediately. Teeth are exponentially cleaner. I’ve used a Waterpick for 2 years and it is a massive QOL too!!***

  Fraying depends on the brand and the sharpness of your teeth. Glide is the most slippery, Tom’s is so thick and ropey I feel like I’m pulling out teeth. My personal favorite is Coco Floss, it’s PFAS free and swells a little when it gets wet (helping clear more debris). But if you have rough fillings or a lot of small chips in your teeth, every brand of floss is going to rip. As for the finger strangulation I have no advice, haha. Just be conscious when you are using your plackers- fully suggest looking in the mirror while you do it and see how much actual back and forth it takes to loosen the plaque. Push down and rub back and forth on EACH tooth when you go between teeth. Using the Waterpik after is a great idea to flush it all out.

  In your youth, floss, brush waterpik for the rest of your life. Get your teeth inspected and cleaned regularly. Fix what needs fixing early. Delays make things worse.

  WaterPik I got on sale 3 years ago. I went from flossing once a day if lucky, to using that WaterPik twice or three times a day while brushing. It’s been 3 years and I love it and use it everyday. Nothing beats having a mouth that feels super clean all the time. Makes teeth cleaning a fun thing I look forward to

  Dental Hygiene / Toothbrushes - If you had $2,500 to spend what would you buy?

  Waterpiks aren’t near as effective as flossing, but it’s better than nothing if you can’t convince yourself to floss. The top of the line soniccare and a bunch of heads, plus the toothpaste and floss of your preference if not doing the waterpiks. I really like cocofloss, but ymmv!

  Water Flossers (WaterPik)

  I tried bypassing the circuit board, but the problem is that the motor draws 7.4A, which you can't get from any USB device I know of. One solution would be a 120VAC to 3.7VDC plug-in power supply. The option I am exploring is simply replacing the battery, assuming the motor, mechanicals, and circuit board are OK. I found what appears to be a direct solder-in replacement battery for my Waterpik Ion on eBay, for $20: "Battery pack 1S1P 3.7v or high draining devices ... ," so I am going to give that a shot.

  What’s a health thing that’s changed your life?

  Currently I'm using the Philips Sonicare Cordless Power Flosser 3000. Previously I was also happy with the Waterpik Cordless Pearl (model WF-13CD010) water flosser. I tried some other portable models from Waterpik, but I was very disappointed in how weak the streams were. The WF-13 is the only one from them that I liked. The Sonicare feels more powerful than the WF-13 was, but not by a ton and it does cost a bit more. If the extra cost isn't a concern, I recommend the Sonicare.

  What products used to be well built back in the day but now are low quality?

  Water pick. My first one lasted like 8 years and sprung a leak in the tube going to the nozzle. My next one lasted 1 year and the motor went out. I attached that nozzle to my original and was back in action for a couple years. I have gone through three now in a year and a half.

  Jack of all trades, master of none. Buy separate ones that do great job at their own. Toothbrush i have has lasted me a long time (oral-b) but water floss sometimes starts giving issues around the 3-5 year mark (waterpik). Don't want to have to replace everything or not know what is causing the issue, leading to replacing the 2-in-1. Water floss, I feel like you get much better control with the small tips, more manurable, especially with the wisdom teeth. I have to use a small baby toothbrush just to get the top wisdom teeth (dentist instructions).

  Same. I get my replacement heads at Costco. Also have the Sonicare they sell from there with the UV light disinfecter; on my second one in like 15 years. Also water pik- once a day for brush and water floss, dentist every 6 months, super good results and worth it for me.

  Waterpik Sonic Fusion toothbrush and water flosser. Just do it for your health and appearance. My teeth are now so white I get asked how I do it (this is all I do). My dental hygienist thinks I've become clean mouth master. Teeth with little plaque, non-bleeding gums -- It's great to sail through those checkups now. My cat loves to chew on the flosser hose, only downside. $20 OEM to replace. Waiting for someone in China to dupe.

  RIP My 20ish Year Old Braun Electric Toothbrush

  I replaced my rechargeable battery in my waterpik toothbrush. It only lasted 30 seconds prior. Costed $10 battery and $15 soldering iron kit. YouTube has plenty of videos

  Water Flossers (WaterPik)

  Well, the problem wasn't with the battery. I believe the Waterpik got water inside the circuit board and it started running and wouldn't stop. This was all a year ago, so it's long gone. I am not knowledgeable enough to have know how or what to fix, and now I have a plug in one, no battery.

  Ha! “tooth be told” funny cause my was just listing credentials. (dental hygienist) I’m sure like you, our home is full of various dental maintenance equipment. Just speaking personally, I notice more debris from sonicare and waterpick. My wife says really anything’s better than a manual toothbrush.
