If you want the very best, weatherwool. I have a few wool jackets, Orvis (foul weather jacket), LL Bean (Maine guide parka), Filson (mackinaw cruiser), Barbour (tweed sapper), and WW (medium weight anarok). I really only need 2, the Barbour for the office and WW for everything else. Look it up.

Best winter jackets that are worth the price
Anything from Weatherwool. Yes it’s expensive, but it’s the tippy top when it comes to wool. No upgrades from here. I have two jackets and that’s probably the end of what I’ll ever need from mild autumn to arctic circle adventures.

Looking for wool sweatpants
https://micklagaard.com/collections/trousers/products/hamra-basic https://weatherwool.com/products/denim-jeans I realize they’re not sweatpants, but wool pants are typically either dress pants or hunting/outdoors pants. Base layers are cheaper and more available, but they don’t have pockets and are long underwear so not the same either. Not saying wool sweatpants don’t exist, but I’ve been wanting to either make my own set of wool pants or buy these.

For those rolling their eyes at $1k jackets: Go feel the product or similar and update us please. I had a similar experience in 2008 when my wife spent $600USD on a similar coat to the WeatherWool (I'd estimate about 15% lesser quality, 20% "dressier" style, and a significant bill to the tailor because I'm enormous)... I was truly angry that she spent that much on "just a coat" until I picked it up from alterations and realized the craftsmanship was so impressive it has a certain art to it that can only be described with tactile introduction.

I have an Al’s anorak from weatherwool in Midweight. So toasty warm I was having to vent it down to below freezing. Great piece of kit. But, like all wool, it’s a lot heavier than natural or synthetic down so be prepared for that. The other thing I’d think about is how your layering is working to support your needs, a merino base and mid layer can be warm enough to reduce your outer layer needs dramatically, and it’s easier then to add/remove as conditions or activity levels change.

what winter coat are yall using?
Weatherwool chore coat or their anorak. Sometimes my Barbour waxed jacket too if it’s damp and windy with wool layer underneath. I don’t wear petroleum based clothing anymore.
