And I assume you have tried washing them, right? Quick hand washing SOP. Use Woolite or a gentle shampoo and cold water in the sink. Just a tiny bit in a sink full of cold water. Gently squeeze the sweater while it's submerged. Don't twist it! Drain the sink and fill with just water. Squeeze the clean water through the sweater. Repeat until no more suds. Take the sweater out of the water and roll it in a towel to dry it. Put the wet sweater on a new dry towel and shape it back to its original size. Dry it flat.

How should I wash this hat without damaging it?
Two options: (1) hat cages (which oddly are great in a dish-washer), or (2) soaking with Woolite then hand-washing. After you get it clean, spray outside with Scotchguard, which will keep the exterior super clean for years.

Spilled coffee on a canvas bag, looking to try to repair it. Any suggestions for subs that may help?
Looks like we might have the same Filson bag. Over the 15-20 years I’ve had mine I’ve washed it probably 3 or 4 times. Use Woolite or similar. Don’t put it in the dryer and oil the leather immediately! Leather looks worn but still fine. Have done the same with the canvas Mackinaw I got from my dad. All are unwaxed. The one pair of waxed pants I have gone back to Seattle once to get repaired and rewaxed.

Your favorite laundry detergent to keep your clothes more BIFLish?
For many outer clothes, they don't need to be washed after every wear unless truly dirty or sweaty. Folding or proper hangers (and tops properly aligned on the shoulder seams) helps to keep shape. Woolite for more delicate items and materials, on the delicate cycle. Air dry when possible, or after a short run in low heat in the dryer, especially anything with elastic. Good mesh laundry bags are cheap, and protect from abrasion and snags. I use them for many tops and delicate items, and they've held up well over time.

When I was in, we weren’t allowed to use any detergent that had optical brighteners in it so it was pretty much limited to Woolite.
