looking for a new wallet
I’ve got the [stingray bifold](https://www.yoderleather.com/collections/bifold-wallets/stingray) but I have the [ID window](https://www.yoderleather.com/collections/bifolds-with-id-window) which they don’t seem to make anymore. I don’t know how attach a photo to this post but I’ll reply again with some to show how it looks at 6 years of daily use.

In search of pellet grill
It seems like I see more posts on the pellet sub about pit boss issues than anything else. Traeger is made like cheap chintzy shit just go to home depot and twist the lid a little on a display model. I just got a pellet grill a few months ago, if I even upgrade it'll probably be a Yoder.

Yeah Yoder is solid but pricey af. If you want something that'll actually last without breaking the bank, check out RecTec or Camp Chef - both are way more reliable than Traeger and won't nickel and dime you on replacement parts

Two options: Budget is the deciding factor. 1. Yoder 2. Rectec The nod for BIFL goes to Yoder but honestly you can buy three Rectec models for the cost of a single Yoder, which also translates to BIFL since it’ll last 15-20yrs with good care.

Incredibly solid! They had them on display at our local Ace Hardware and it was laughable lifting a Traeger after lifting the heavy Yoder lid. The competition cart has bigger wheels, I liked it because it lives in my garage and I push it out to the driveway. Yes, holds the temperature incredibly well and has less of a pellet burn than my Camp Chef because of the quality of material.

Yoder is American made, solid steel. I started with a Camp Chef and upgraded to a Yoder YS640 on competition cart and couldn't be happier!

How are the mighty fallen
Traeger Grills. I have an old one. It’s still solid, but I can no longer get parts for it and customer service is spotty. Will move on to Yoder as soon as I can amass enough money.

What's the best pellet smoker?
I have a Yoder YS640. Like others have said - It's built like a tank. I think the shipping invoice on mine had a weight of like 400+ pounds. The "body" of the grill will last a lifetime.... Which brings me to my main point: Moving parts. All the moving parts (Things that can and will break) are replaceable from Yoder. I bought mine in 2018 and they sell upgraded replacement parts that I have added to my 2018 smoker. The only thing I have had to fix on mine since 2018 is the thermal igniter. Complaint: As you have noted, pellet smokers give a lighter smoke flavor than stick burners. In my opinion this is true of all pellet smokers.

What's the best pellet smoker?
I cannot recommend the YS640 enough. I've had a smoke fire 2nd generation (which was TERRIBLE) and a pitboss 700FB (while temporarily living out of state). The yoder is easy to use, easy to clean, quick to heat, highly adjustable, and makes great smokey flavor. The pizza oven is also spectacular and makes professional woodfire pies with ease. It is worth the cost, in my opinion, and then some.

What's the best pellet smoker?
thats not his experience, thats the experience of yoder owners, yoders are the bosses of the industry. theyre absolutely insanely amazing, the only issue is theyre significantly more expensive but if you truly want what youre asking for and you can afford it then the answer is 100% buy the yoder. yoders are both the late 90s Toyotas and modern Lamborghinis

Yoder probably has the highest quality for the price. They are solidly built. Rec-Tec, GMG, Weber should all last a long time. These all have electrical components which won’t truly last a lifetime but these companies will support them and sell replacement parts for a long time which is what I look for when making a large purchase.

What's the best pellet smoker?
Completely different. Yoder looks like a traditional “smoker” whereas Memphis looks like a propane grill - and technically is a pellet grill that smokes too. IMO the Memphis looks “nicer” and can even be built in to outdoor kitchens and whatnot.

Yoder or Memphis grills are the most overbuilt I’ve seen personally.

What's the best pellet smoker?
Was looking into this a few years ago, so here is some info from my search. In terms of smoke flavor, I'd heard the camp chef woodwind pro models do the best as they have a chamber for smoldering wood chunks to add more smoke flavor. Not sure of their BIFL qualities though. Yoder and Pitts & Spitts are two bigger premium made in America brands I've heard good things about. Built like tanks. Best bang for buck brand I've seen is ReqTec. My friend went with a Reqtec 700, now called 1100, and has loved it. Their customer is also generally well regarded. This would be my go to recommendation. There are also a number of smaller brands making smokers to order, but you have to dig a bit to find them and if software and apps are important to you they don't always have that. I went with a Blazin Grill Works Grand Slam because I liked some of their features and wanted to support a smaller business. It's served me well for 4 years now. Turnaround times can sometimes be longer with these though.

What's the best pellet smoker?
In my group of friends two others have bought them since I got mine in 2018. The next best one was a camp chef whirlwind my buddy had. He ended up buying a Yoder also. I came from a green egg I loved but had young kids so I wanted something easier. They should last a long time if you keep them covered.

Yoder is probably as best to BIFL, rectec a second. I wouldn’t expect one to truly ever last more than 10 years though. I have a GMG Daniel Boone that I rarely use but it’s pushing 10 years.

Has Hanks Belts changed ownership? Now junk?
Doubt you want a steel reinforced gun belt if you dont plan on carrying but a thick heavy belt isnt weird. Yoder has some exotic leather belts you might like
