Looking for glasses that reduces eye strain
If you want true quality, look into Zeiss or Essilor lenses with a high-quality anti-reflective (AR) coating. The coating reduces glare from overhead office lights, which is a huge source of silent eye strain.

Looking for glasses that reduces eye strain
I've had optometrists say blue light filter glasses don't actually help much. What does hell and what helps me is to take a break for at least 20 seconds every 20 minutes. Look outside or look to a spot 20 feet away. But for glasses, I'm not sure what your budget is. I use mykita glasses because I have terrible vision and these are lightweight and extremely durable. I have Zeiss lenses and I believe those come with filters if you do go down that route.

Is there a name for brands that only focus on highest quality?
Snap-on Tools. Fluke meters. Zeiss optics. Siemens scanners. REI gear. Toyota Land Cruiser. Miele vacuums.

Some of my favorite BIFL EDC items.
Got a real Cow Tools vibe about this before I read the caption. My BIFL EDC bits are: - Victorinox Classic SD, on a Nite-Ize S-Biner used as a key ring. - Streamlight Stylus Pro torch - Zeiss MiniQuick 5x10 monocular - Koyono Slimmy wallet (2 pocket) - Casio GW-M5610 G-Shock (or a Seiko SKX013 at weekends) - Lamy Pico All carried in a Tom Bihn Cafe Bag. In summer, add Maui Jim sunnies & a Canadian made Tilley T3 hat.

NYT just put out a list of their BIFL picks
As someone who used to sell binoculars professionally I can think of better BIFL binos than what's on this list, my Zeiss Terra are going strong nearly twenty years later.
